Such an amazing song. I remember as a kid in the 60's and 70's my Mom and Dad were huge Johnny Rivers fans and, had several of his albums, which I have to this day at 61 yrs old. Great job! I am now a subscriber!
@@pulse880radio4 Johnny belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but the people who run it seem like real wierdos! They put people in there who don't play rock and only put the Doobie Brothers in there this year, when they have been around for fifty years! Johnny Rivers has been around and selling millions of records since the 1960s!
This always brings tears 😢Johnny Rivers always is a fav of mine, the music is wonderful and his voice is mesmerizing and like butter melting! Thanks for reacting to a song I fell in love with back in 1966 when I was a teen, any Johnny Rivers song is great 💋💔🥰 sending love from 🇨🇦
Awesome song. You should do his version of Tracks of My Tears and then back it up Smokey Robinsons original version. They both did such a beautiful job. Love to know which one you like best.
I remember the first time I heard this. I thought he was ripping off "Flying on the ground is Wrong" by the Guess Who but, little did I know it, the Guess Who were covering a Neil Young song (Young's first big break). Musically it is different but the tone was similar to my teen age brain. Billy Joe Royal had a hit on the same theme called "Down in the boondocks". Johnny's voice is smooth and he does a great job with this song.
@@pulse880radio4 p.s. Before they were the Guess Who, they were Chad Allen and the Expressions (iirc). Bachman played lead guitar. It was before Cummings. Their biggest hit then was a cover of Kidd's "Shaking All Over" which the record label distributed with "Guess Who?" as a gimmick to draw attention to the band. It stuck.
Do those who govern and run the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have a heart and soul? Maybe not so much. Johnny Rivers ( John Henry Ramistella ) is, I believe, 81 years of age and belongs in the vaunted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The fact that he is not already a member is an unforgivable crime and a travesty.
Man if you areonly "ok with that" you have been listening to too much bumpo a boom - you didn't hear those angels in the back-ground" IT IS a SYMPHONY!!
This harks back to an era when singers could sing with passion and billionaires were despised.
Always loved this song by Johnny Rivers. Matter of fact, I love all of his songs. Great reaction to this song!
