I was lucky enough to be Bernadette's dresser a few years ago on a show she did in Westhampton. She shines like a star on and off stage because she really is one. Such a delight to everyone she dealt with. Thanks for this!
@@petrosvimplis1877 I just alway hope one's kind thats what I meant. Bernadette in my heart is the best. I love Barbara but I believe Bernadette to be the kinder person. Wish I could see her in Seattle I get super sad knowing that I cant
OMG - this is a tough, tough song to sing even with accompaniment because of those ups and downs and not only did she do it she did it and stayed EXACTLY on pitch acapella!! A true artist and she LOOKS fabulous. What I wouldn't give to hear her sing LIVE - Pearls a Singer!
I absolutely loved her in Cinderella with Whitney Houston and Brandy. I watch that movie at least once a month! Such perfect casting for each role of the movie. Its absolutely magic! Such an underrated movie
I watched it weekly growing up and now my kids have to sit through me watching it monthly singing and reciting every damn word! She was SO GOOD, I remember thinking her purple dress was PERFECTION back then! And I had a Brandy Barbie....good memories 🤗💜
Last week, I watched "Into the woods" (original cast) for the first time. Henceforth, I've been singing this earworm song. How wonderful it is to hear THE Bernadette Peters (the only witch I've ever sympathised with) sing it today. She does not age... Nor does her voice! As gorgeous and lovely as ever.
It's funny that Bernadette Peters would sing this song for us during this pandemic. Just yesterday, I heard the whole soundtrack to Into the Woods while tele-commuting from my home on a beautiful, sunny June day. I thought how appropriate this song would be for everyone to hear during these most difficult times. And here, she sings it as a thought that we might need to hear it. How right you are, Bernadette. How right you are. Thank you for your gift and talent.
She is still so lovely. Her voice so pure. She is truly a national treasure. I'm glad I grew up the 60's and 70's and remember all these talented people.
I have been a fan of Bernadette since I was a kid. I have always admired her inner and outer beauty, her voice, her acting...she has not aged. She is ageless. Her voice and sincerity singing this song made me cry. It hit home.
Im so grateful that I found this. Everything going on and being an first responder and not seeing my family, this was something I really needed. It was sweet and it was caring. Thank you to the ICON that is Bernadette Peters.
I played this song at my dad's funeral 23 years ago, when I was 23 (I played it on the piano, and had given everyone a copy of the lyrics). My dad was a doctor and I've been wondering what he might think of the pandemic. This song gave me a lot of peace back then and it still does. Thank you, Bernadette!!!! ♥️💕
@Cindy Klenk No, no, I wouldn't have been able to sing, either. I had a copy of the lyrics included in the printed program that everyone received at the entrance, leaving me free to just play. I did introduce the song and refer people to the lyrics, and say a few words about my dad. What did you end up doing at your dad's service? Did you incorporate the song that you wanted to use or do something else?
The thing is - this years musical at my high school was going to be into the woods. We only got one performance (which is more than others) but we usually do 4. This just popped up and I'm literally crying right now 😭
Cindy Klenk oh my god this is just gonna be one whole whirlwind of crying! 😂 Thank you so so much, I wasn't expecting anyone to say anything never mind that. Believe me, that made me feel a lot better ❤️
I absolutely loved her in Cinderella with Brandy. Its my favorite Movie to this day and I watch it at least once a month. Such an underrated movie. Its just a perfect cast
There is a reason you are a star...and this performance proves it in case ANYONE had questions. Thanks so much for sharing Bernadette...I have often enjoyed your performances and this was certainly "the perfect song" and you the "perfect person" to deliver it to us (I am giving you a virtual standing ovation"!
Pandemic notwithstanding, as a 41 year old I can tell you this song has more meaning to me now than ever before. There are people that have made me feel so alone even while being with them. And during those times I had forgotten that I was not alone. That there are people in our lives that accept us - flaws and all. Those are the people I will always cherish. When I was in high school my very first Tony Awards show featured Bernadette singing this very song. She sounds as beautiful now as she did then. Thank you, Bernadette.
in the ITW production, her character leaves the cast before this song, and she IS ALONE bc Rapunzel died... and now in a time where all of us feel alone, Bernadette reassures us. Been a fan of her voice since I was little. Amazing job as always ❤️
Bernadette - Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift. You look the same as when I saw you in concert about 25 years ago here in Mid- Michigan. You were sick but did not cancel the concert so no one would be disappointed - bless you. You looked and sounded like an angel. Thank you and have a lovely day. Blessings - Judith
My father grew up near her families bakery and would tell us he knew her and her family. Since I was a little girl I would listen in awe at her voice and beauty!! I’m still awe struck by both, thank you so much for adding some light to these dark times and Peters!!! I think you are an angel.....
I’m glad to say I’m from Queens NY, like you, Ms. Peters. I remember, as a kid, at a store on Liberty Avenue, a man had your picture up and was saying how proud of you he was. I don’t remember how he was related or knew you, but he was right.
Saw Bernadette Peters twice. First time in "into the woods"... second time in "goodbye girl" with martin short... she's brilliant.... would love to see her again..xo

I've seen Bernadette in many shows on Broadway from Into the Woods to Hello Dolly. She is so talented and obviously ageless! This was one of the best of not the absolute best performance on this show.
Wow. She not only sings beautifully but she has not aged a bit . She looks the same as when she used to guest on The Carol Burnett Show. Such a strong voice. Wonderful.
She truly is amazing. I thank the Lord every day I discovered her when I was in high school I hope so many others hear her amazing voice and see her passion
Since the Animaniacs reboot was announced I went looking up the VAs to the show. Rita's songs were always a highlight to the series as a child. Hearing this lovely woman all these years later, her voice is still that of stunning grace. Simply beautiful.
Wow even when not backed up by a full blown out orchestra she knows that all alone in her living room no less that she can sing really well done I tip my hat to Bernadette she really is the most talented person in all of showbiz
Thank you, Ms. Peters! Lovely to hear you again. I think I will get out my copy of the original cast recording and give it a listen today. "You should see my nectarines!"
When I was little “Into the woods” was my 1st musical that I’ve ever seen. I remember once I saw Bernadette perform and sing she became my favorite and still is! Love this
Ok, that made me cry! This song is so full of poignancy within the context of the play, and now, within the context of the world, it bears even more poignancy. Thank you, dear Bernadette, for giving us this gift.
No instrumental, no proper lighting, just Bernadette Peters singing no one is alone in her living room...SUCH A QUEEN

oh my gosh 72? she barely looks 40!
She cannot be 72!
James Heinzman WHAT?? No way!!
Literally she could pass for 40 or 50. She's stunning! ♥️
Imagine being her neighbor and hearing this everyday
She sounds like she is gonna burst out crying any minute
That Is how she sings.
But of course it's our B
She's always sounded rather whiny . . .
@@QuasarRedshift , does it make you feel better to make others feel worse? She has had a very successful career from people who feel differently.
She has always had feeling... But imagine at 72 how many friends and family she has lost in her life. I'm sure she's thinking of them.
I can see her hearing the orchestra, even in A Cappella beautiful voiced Bernadette is not alone .
