Anyone else notice how this game always has a more diverse top 8 than Strive and Xrd?

People have been playing this game for literally the past 20 years. The balance of the game and each character has been studied to death. The top players have had their mains picked for years, and there aren't any new characters to try out a month before the next tourney.
Strive is barely 5 years old and is still getting new characters about every 3-6 months, which upset the balance of the game each time, forcing players to either adapt or die.
Please, just think about it; it's not a notable discovery.
(And xrd has a huge variety of characters in most top 8s...)
