There are keys you can use as well. "Z = action ; X = cancel/run" You can even use X to speed through dialog. @21:24 you can run past Susie and she says something like, "You run fast, must be from running away all the time."
Which further supports the fact that our choices dont matter in this game. Sure, some dialogue may be different from others, but the outcome will always be the same.
Reminder that this isn't the full game! In his twitter, Toby Fox posted a link commenting on deltarune. In it, he said that this game, unlike undertale, would be impossible to complete alone. 10HCritical and they all mean nothing. the key events don’t change. it is possible that the small changes you make do progressively start to affect later chapters, but its also possible the next chapter just re-affirms how futile you are. i don’t wanna get into spoilers, but i’ll just say that the very few “changes”/variations you can make, could mean nothing to the way things play out in the end of later chapters (and um..yea, that ending kinda re-affirms how you’re really not in control of whats to come) and don’t get me wrong, that could be as exciting as the original Undertale, sense we are presented to the theme of “futility”, all we can do is affect how we feel about things and make good memories out of it, the small choices that don’t impact the course of events can still be very meaningful to you and the party.

I think the feeling of playing Deltarune for the first time is one that few games can match- equal to Subnautica. I would love to able to erase my memory of this game and playthrough it again.

He also clarifies that the story players created in Undertale will remain the way that they left it. SPOILER I was thought it was continuation from Undertale, until I free roam in town, Undyne doesn't know and recognize Alphys, and any other that seems not parallel with Undertale. Now Toby Fox has confirms it, I'm glad I'm not wrong.
i think it is a prequel for Undertale, and it takes place before the war, cause u can see that humans and monsters live together, and (SPOILERS) at the end when Kris rips his soul means that u can't stop him from starting the war(i think) ant the war kinda needs to start so Undertale can take place. Another evidence for Deltarune being a prequel is that Asriel is still alive.

Fun fact: @ 30:10 when kris leads the way Susie gives you different remaks based on your speed... For example Jack had auto run which made Susie say "Want to make this a race?" But if you were to normally walk Susie would run ahead anyway because Kris is too slow
Yup! And if you turn back and go in the left direction, Susie remarks that "you have no idea where you're going" and runs ahead
There are keys you can use as well. "Z = action ; X = cancel/run" You can even use X to speed through dialog.

Which further supports the fact that our choices dont matter in this game. Sure, some dialogue may be different from others, but the outcome will always be the same.

Reminder that this isn't the full game! In his twitter, Toby Fox posted a link commenting on deltarune. In it, he said that this game, unlike undertale, would be impossible to complete alone. Therefore, he needs help from other people with the rest. You can take this as either a demo or even chapter 1 ^^

it is possible that the small changes you make do progressively start to affect later chapters, but its also possible the next chapter just re-affirms how futile you are.
i don’t wanna get into spoilers, but i’ll just say that the very few “changes”/variations you can make, could mean nothing to the way things play out in the end of later chapters (and um..yea, that ending kinda re-affirms how you’re really not in control of whats to come)
and don’t get me wrong, that could be as exciting as the original Undertale, sense we are presented to the theme of “futility”, all we can do is affect how we feel about things and make good memories out of it, the small choices that don’t impact the course of events can still be very meaningful to you and the party.

Right off the bat, Fox states that Deltarune is not a sequel to Undertale. Deltarune is a different world where a new story will take place. He also clarifies that the story players created in Undertale will remain the way that they left it. Fox’s full statement about the sequel status of Deltarune follows:

I will say that basically, what you’re seeing here is not the world of UNDERTALE.
UNDERTALE’s world and ending are the same as however you left them.

I was thought it was continuation from Undertale, until I free roam in town, Undyne doesn't know and recognize Alphys, and any other that seems not parallel with Undertale. Now Toby Fox has confirms it, I'm glad I'm not wrong.

i think it is a prequel for Undertale, and it takes place before the war, cause u can see that humans and monsters live together, and (SPOILERS) at the end when Kris rips his soul means that u can't stop him from starting the war(i think) ant the war kinda needs to start so Undertale can take place. Another evidence for Deltarune being a prequel is that Asriel is still alive.
