  • We are convinced that metal siding is hard to beat for cladding on a tiny house. Here's our conversation about what we use and why... and stay tuned at the end for some realtime installation footage... or not, it's up to you ;)

Nice job and great material to use. What are the safety ratings for hurricane 🌀 and tornados 🌪

If damage from high winds is a concern, then metal siding and roofing is really the best option hands down. Because each piece interlocks and you can always double or triple the amount of screws in each panel, the wind rating can easily be up to 140 miles per hour. We treat our builds from the perspective of needing to easily withstand hurricanes and earthquakes (which is sort of what delivery amounts to ;)

Sure! The board and batten comes from a local metal roofing/siding supplier. We use a couple different ones as they both stock slightly different metal colors. Our main go to is Best Buy Metals, which does have locations around our area of the country and beyond.
The v-groove wood-look metal is Lux Architectural Products out of BC ( luxarpro.com/lux-lap-cladding-panel/ ) -- we've tried a few different wood look steel plank siding and this is our favorite, even though it's not supper easy to get.
