Bc all other teams have to know the score and prepare better to their precious match. It is clearly unfair and disadvantage. Whoever plays the end of the day has the enormous advantage bc they already know the scores. I realized that Brazil played always at the end of the day but Italy will get 🏅

I think its going to be Bazil x Italy or Bazil x China for the gold medal. Not quite sure who takes the gold but for me Brazil its showing so much finesse in the game especially defensively that I think they have a better chance.

I cannot BELIEVE how badly Turkiye is limping into this bracket after how untouchable they looked in 2023. What a difference a year makes.
They lack stability.
Maybe it is because our game is solved now. We play a boring, predictable volleyball and seemingly players are not enjoying it as before and are overly stressed and tense. Plus, all those injuries made things even worse. ( I am ignoring Santarelli and his decisions for now… Seriously, Turkey looks like a mid-tier team without what Ebrar brings to the team with her physique and energy.)

Zero preparation and planning for olympics. Half of the players are injured and the coach insists on the same injured, incapacitated roster. "The fish smells from the start" we say here

USA is the clear favorite in Poland match. I don’t understand why people think Poland win. I would be surprised if Poland won actually. I think USA is the only country that can defeat Brasil if they make it to semi finals. As Brasil never won against USA A Team since 2019. It would be a huge mental threshold for Brasilians.
The other part of the bracket, Italy and China look solid. But Serbia is Serbia. They have been there before. However Italy never made it to semi. So it’s 50/50. Not an easy match for Italy. I think Italy would prefer any team than Serbia.
Brazil actually won against the US at this year's VNL, just about a month ago

Didn't watch that game, only saw the results 😅 I do agree with you that this US team has the chance to beat Brasil tho, although I think Brasil is going to take the win. Unfortunately, the team is falling apart due to poor decisions by the staff. Santarelli did not have a backup plan for any obstacles. After all the injuries, he had no reserve players, so he kept moving injured players across continents instead of letting them heal. He lacked sufficient knowledge of Turkish players, so there was no replacement for the injured. He didn't organize any preparation matches before the Olympics. On top of all this, instead of giving Ebrar enough time to adapt to the OH position, he benched her and criticized her for her poor performance, which obviously led to further demotivation.
Santarelli might be a good coach, but he's inexperienced with the Olympics, and Turkey is suffering as a result. It's a pity.

Santarelli chose IMOCO over Turkiye basically. Yes, players had injuries and many other issues since the beginning of 2024, however it seems to me like, Santarelli had ZERO preparation for the olympics. I guess he was hoping to find the team he had last year and thought he can get away with a medal without even showing effort. He even admitted that he did not watch the Turkish league! Such a coach...Not being interested in learning about potential future players. Bravo....

Let's assume another Team X has same statistics with Turkiye, I would definitely bet to China will destroy the Team X. But when you know the characteristic of Turkiye, everything is possible. (It is not about I am Turkish but I am sure that even in worse situation opponents have hesitation I think)
Last year, Türkiye had to win 3 organizations in order to get 1 Olympic spot. This consumed the girls and they all had injuries in club season. Neither VNL nor European championship was not enough for FIVB for an Olympic spot. Again another organization at the same year. Rules must be changed and continent championships before the Olympic year must be the criteria for all the spots. The VNL in the Olympic year should not be the arena for getting an Olympic spot. It is too late...
Agree 3-1 Poland to semis, unfortunately club success does not transfer to Olympic Games, Cook should only play back row, as an outside she does not score, Karch was wrong not to bring younger talent to give them experience for 2028. Hope I’m wrong.

You guys are CORRECT, that the USA women's team is NOT very athletic, by world standards. And that goes along with what I've been complaining about for over a decade -- that the USA simply doesn't seem to produce TRULY athletic, explosive, dynamic, quick/agile hitters/players, period. I love Drews, and Cook, and Franti (who is one of the MORE athletic/dynamic hitters). They SEEM to have the potential to be that hitter, but it's like they've hit the wall in their progress. And what they NEED is to take it to the next level. I also blame the setter(s) for SO MANY misconnections, resulting in a completely wasted opportunity, essentially giving the ball right back to the other team. But as a former vb fanatic, only 5'7" male, captain of my college team 3 yrs, coached and played in local tourneys after college... I KNOW what a difference it makes when the hitter is extremely quick and jumps like a jack -- THEY CAN GET TO those low sets, and even POUND them, cuz they so easy to hit, sitting so pretty and still in the air... or, they can get to those sets that are way inside, cuz they move so damn fast on the approach, or they can fly through the air and turn the ball at SHARP angles. Anyway, yes, athleticism MATTERS, and yes, the USA have been lacking in it for ages.
