APDS doesn't suck, I can tell you that from my 2600+ hours experience. Most of that is at 6.0, with the Centurion Mk.1, Challenger, and Black Prince. Only the Conqueror APDS (Shot L1G) sucks. Every round has its pros and cons. As is almost always the case: the round doesn't suck, your aim does. I have all the way up to 11.3 so I've played a LOT of APDS.
I partially agree. I mean, sure its inconsistent but EVERY ammo is, to a degree. APDS is just more. But there's a defined RANGE to the variability, which through my experience I've learned and have mastered it. It just takes time; once you learn it and figure it out, it becomes muscle memory and you'll place your shots where even a bad spall will be good. It just takes time to learn.
For people who didn't start with UK tanks (Solid shot, then APDS pretty early) it is very different and very hard to learn. Also, sometimes its not for you. Playstyle matters. And no I'm not new, I have ~2600 hours. Sorry for the wrong impression. Oh yeah, and read my above response.
