    Nice chat guys. I am one of them that you are talking about. my both sides mother and father Cretan background Muslims but when I did my DNA test in USA the result became %64 Greek/Italian %6 European Jewish %20 Caucasian and %10 Middle eastern so it explains all the story clearly I think :)

    The last years of the Ottoman Empire are in Crete, very nice video, you can also see the Turks there in the video.

      It not Othoman there is Muslim minority still but its 1920 you can see easy Greek flags 14:31...at 13:59 it is Venizelos house! Chania city!Creta is one of the most beautiful Greek islands!

      @@stantinosPalaiologos-xi7fj Yes, you are right, Turks were still there then, until the exchange between Turkey and Greece. There are a lot of originally Cretan Turkish people in Turkey, especially from Hanya.

      @@omrsln4371 Υeah most of them were Greek to change Muslims..cause this if you ask them ..they had Greek sirnames..Greeks sirnames is very old..Turks has sirname after 1923 but Greeks has sirname by byzantine period..1000 years ago..so Creta muslims used Greek sirname..for exable ,,Ahmet Mitsotakis..but after exchange they forced to change Greek sirname..

      @@omrsln4371 i know many old they speak Greek ..turk this period not exist cause we call them muslims..they were Cristians before but forced to change name..this period religione mean you choose also Nationality..but origine Dna was local Cretan they havent any relation with Baykal lake nomads etc

      @@stantinosPalaiologos-xi7fj I understand, At the same time, Turks and Greeks married many times in Crete. This situation is not seen in other islands.... There is a Greek culture in Crete from those who come to Turkey... Very mix very very:)
