I completely agree with you on the wireless cameras... I have the Furrion 3 camera wireless system and it's absolutely unusable while you're driving because the latency is so bad. I've been looking for a wired 3 camera system to replace the Furrion system.
I recently purchased a wired camera system for my truck and travel trailer. It came with a twist-style connectors which are fine for one-and-done but since I'll need to disconnect it frequently, I'm looking for a more robust plug like yours (pollock plug). Can I cut the existing plug off and install a pollock or would that distort the video feed? I've asked the seller but they are not understanding my question. They keep replying the unit I purchased comes with a plug. I'm looking for something more robust than what came with the unit.
I would imagine that a new connector would be fine. As woth any electrical connection, make sure you properly isolate/insulate each individual conductor. The individual conductors are extremely thin. If I were changing the plug, I would cut the plugs off that I want to replace. Then individually make up the new connections, working pin 1 on both sides, then pin 2, etc. I would solder the wires to the plug and use heat shrink on each conductor. I hope this helps!
I am with you on wireless cameras. Thanks for keeping this install simple and to the point. Very helpful.
Thanks for watching and you're welcome!
Thanks. I was stuck on the cabling and this helped.
Glad I was able to help!
