always consider the water, electricity and security all the time. you should build a concrete one just in case theres a fire it will be very hard to help you out.

Wow that view!! I am surprised more places don't collect rain water with the amount of rain you get there. No problem with dodgy water and its free. Guttering, water tank and pump is all you need!

Three site inspections Finn and Sherlyn! My wife works in real estate in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon Mindanao. I think she would agree that you made the right choice, especially if the titles are in order and the concreting of the road has been approved. The benefits of land up on a hill like that are not only views, but freedom from the problem of flooding which is something lowlanders have to deal with regularly.
Geoff, what island has the cheaper land prices. My GF lives in Bohol and just heard that Bohol is the most expensive island to live now.
@@kevink1214 Bohol is a very "touristy" place. A friend of mine moved there in February of this year, but only because he had a rich friend on whose property he could stay. They are both English, and based on his photos he sends me the place, even though a provincial beachside area, is full of foreigners. I'm no expert on land prices, but I would suggest that Mindanao is likely to provide many opportunities for relatively cheap land. My wife and I have a house uphill from Cagayan de Oro City, and are in the process of beginning payments on a brand new bungalow which has an all-up cost of 4.3 million Philippine pesos. It won't be ready until 2024. Here in Northern Mindanao there are both city and rural properties, and beachside properties if that's what you want. There are also many scenic locations in Northern Mindanao, and Mindanao in general is not often visited by people from Luzon. If you have a particular type of location or property in mind, I can arrange for my wife to contact you, if you provide contact details. The local language here is Mindanao Cebuano, or "Bisaya" as we usually call it, and because your GF is a Boholana, she will understand it. Don't believe any of the bad news stories you are likely to hear about Mindanao.

The unimproved road probably keeps the cost down for a great opportunity. Like you stated, once a road is built, the value will increase SIGNIFICANTLY. Don't be in a rush to build, if you can wait for the road, you will benefit greatly. Best wishes!!!

Ah that’s the best place to be in where there are 2 or 3 outlets to get in and out of the place so in case of emergencies you won’t get stock like a sitting duck. Looks like you have distant neighbors already in this new lot. Nice! Hope the very best for you both.

It is good to get in there before they concrete the roads otherwise the price will skyrocket. We bought a similar plot on Samal Island on a plateau overlooking Davao bay when there was no road. Since the road has been built prices have increased 6 fold. For water we have sunk a deep well, cost about 30k pesos and the water is clear and drinkable, I wouldn't trust the water supplied through mains. Also look into solar power, electricity prices are expensive and always increasing, despite the outlay at the beginning you will be financially better off in the future. Good Luck.

That's a nice place to build a house. Very beautiful scenery. I love it. Finn's your family may love that place too. Make a construction details of building your house on weekly basis. Watch the video of The Armstrong family. They made a house tour after completion of building their house. Watch it.
Beautiful property! Someday you will call that a million dollar view. I suggest that you have somebody ID the trees trat are in your property. The trees that have deep erosion preventing roots you gotta keep, especially if they are century old trees. That flat area on top of your hill is perfect for building and growing a garden. Congratulations for finding your piece of heaven on Earth!

A loft type tiny house would be great in that lot. Would give you a higher point of view but cheaper to build

Finn, if you build on that mountain please make sure a proper soil sample is taken. I’ve seen enough landslides in the PI and elsewhere of homes being lost due to erosion and heavy rain.

Beautiful property, the only concern is to make sure that there is an easement, to go through the property, the other most important aspect of buying/owning property in the Philippines is that you as a foreigner is you will never, never own a property in the Philippines, if your other half leaves you, you are done, all your finances is gone, she will take everything, and that scenario is very common in the country.
I'm proud of you Finn and Lynn for you found a place at last that you can call home.
