She overpowered the orchestra, the ensemble, and Lucy with that first bring me DOOOOWWWN. I don't care about riffs anymore, I just stan a Queen of Resonance right there. 😭
She doesn’t riff a single thing in the flying portion. She doesn’t need to. Her voice, passion, her acting through the song. She trusts the music and the text and she embodies the character. It’s so brilliant.
Saw her performance yesterday, eighth different elphaba I've seen and first time seeing her and wow seriously impressed. Vocals are so clear throughout she's quickly jumped into my top three elphies and that's after one viewing so sure with a few more visits to the Apollo that first spot favourite elphie is likely to change
I got to see this last night so thank you for posting this and allowing me to relive the moments 🥺 I had no idea about the history or previous casting or anything about the show before watching but now I feel so lucky to have been able to witness not just alexia's homecoming to the musical but seeing Lucy St Louis again after seeing her in phantom 😭😭 both of them have such power in their voices it was absolutely mindblowing, I fell in love w alexia's elphaba straight away, her voice is ethereal I had tears during this :(
First, THANK YOU. She a QUEEN and I’m determined to make it across the pond before her contract ends. Second, did she and Lucy both have covid?! How long/when were they out?!
@@thepitchmaster 1st covers not rehearsed yet so we had 2nd cover Elphaba on a lot and then Sam Thomas back on for glinda who was a cover in the last cast!
Alexia seems to be the only London Elphaba who doesn’t leave that painfully long pause between her preflight lines and her “It’s meeeee” - wonder if it’s a direction given by the creatives rather than just an annoying coincidence between pretty much every elphaba since 2014

I like everything you said. Queen of Resonance! She not only drowned the orchestra, she shook me all the way to California!

Oh my god. Serious chills. THATS how you sing Defying Gravity.
the way alexia constantly sustains those BMDs. chills. just chills. she’s absolutely incredible!
What's BMDs?
@@Sabrinajaine when she sings ‘bring me down’ :)

The pause before “it’s meee” is getting painful in London…. But she is incredible!!!
Crystal clear .. I’m obsessed
I was there as well at the 7:30pm. They were both incredible!

Come see us!! Yeah it looked like they were both out for like 5/6 days! We had emergency covers and all sorts coming back!
