Color is very important. My 4yr daughter loves Evan Moore books because they are colored. I used 180days before. My daughter didn't want to do the book because it's black and white even though it's a good book. I agree with your video 100%.

I put unfinished summer workbooks in the car for the kiddos to work with while I am driving.

I also LOVE the Skill Sharpeners! We did Math and Geography in Kindergarten, didn’t do any this year, but next year we might get Reading. This Summer we’re trying the Daily Summer activities (because of you.) ❤️😊 Can’t wait to see the new house! 🥳🥳

:) Sooo Goood! Isn't Evan Moor the BEST? I have a problem. And YES, I need to film a bit of the new house. It'll never be "camera ready" so I need to just do it. LOL

I’m obsessed with the Evan Moore books. I keep buying more and more like a horder for my about to turn 3 year old. I can’t stop because they come in the mail and are so good that I want more! We are working through some other 2 year old curriculum things first but I’m looking forward to starting Evan more books for “3K”

I learned something new from watching this! I love Evan Moor, but I didn’t realize there was a History Pocket or Literature Pocket. That’s so neat!!! Something to think about for the future.

Hello! I have watched a few of your videos this past year. I'm a new homeschooling mama. I am in OK and we school thru Epic Charter School. So my daughter technically has a teacher but she is more like a coach and I'm the teacher. This was our first year and we are wrapping it up this week. So basically how it works is it's online and we do core curiculum like abcmouse and then some add ons like reading eggs and mathseeds and that's basically all they require. But I do a BUNCH of hands on stuff and we do about 2 hours of extra stuff outside the tablet stuff. She meets with her teacher for about 45 minutes 2 times a month and that's about it. When we began i was so lost. I thought I would have more leadership from the school but I had to be creative and figure out my system and get my groove. I think i finished pretty well. My girl was in pre k and will be moving to kindergarden next school year. So it's different than regular homeschool as I follow the curriculum I choose through the school and then I do my extras I add in. I do like it better this way because the stuff she learns from the programs on her tablet help guide me. So my big question I have is HOW do you do this with a toddler? 🤯 my girl is 5 and I have a 13 month old baby boy. It was easier the beg of the year as he wasn't walking yet and slept a lot but now I am struggling with how to balance teaching her and keeping him occupied as well. I am at a table with her as we teach and brother will play on his own for as long as he can but he just cries and wants me to hold him and then if I try and keep him occupied she wants to join in and can't focus. Sorry this is so long. I'm just dying for some advice as to how you make this work. Also, how long do you think is normal to work with a kindergardener each day? Thanks for your help!

Hello Beth! Your story is one that we ALL know! And it IS hard. There is no real "trick in the book" that I could tell you to help with your toddler. Here are a few suggestions as to what I did:
Create busy boxes. These are boxes (1 for each day) that are only used during school time. I got learning based activities and puzzles and such from amazon and divided them out into different boxes. Here is a video from my friend at Pursuing Peace that does a great job: th-cam.com/video/fAaVn3bye6M/w-d-xo.html
Do it while the toddler naps: hard but helpful
Include the toddler as much as possible. Modify the daily binder or craft work for them. I always would tell people I just threw blank pieces of paper at my toddler for the 20 minutes of "craft time" to try and keep him occupied.
As far as how long Kindergarten goes, 1 hour is GREAT! I spent 10 minutes in morning circle time, 10 minutes in our daily learning notebook, and then rotated the other subjects in our "loop" daily. See my looping video here: th-cam.com/video/caXWziQFFqI/w-d-xo.html
Don't hesitate to ask questions. getting started is always the most intimating. But you CAN do it!

How do you find out if your state funds homeschool resources? I can't find anything like that in my state, and honestly didn't know that even existed.

The state itself will not (that I know of) finance homeschooling. There are 3rd party groups that work through a public school that will give allowances for school related materials. Mine is called Harmony. My Tech High is another one I know of. I found out about them by asking the homeschool group on facebook for my area. Start there. Lots of seasoned moms in your area will know!

How do you get funded through the school?

    • @FullPurposeAndHeart

There are different programs for different states. Mine is called Harmony Ed. My Tech High is another one I have heard although never used. You'd have to ask around in your area.
