@@ClaudiaXpertshello dear ma'am Could you plzz Tell me that how i use dummy project in QuickBooks for practicing my QuickBooks online Accountant??? I'm beginner in learning stage..
Hi, I cant see the project overview to show the coloured lines income, costs, and profitability and profit margins, Am i missing something here to turn on. I have turned on the projects in the settings, I have QBO plus subscriptions . QB staffs are not very helpful in resolving.
You will need to click on projects, then select project. You will then create the project and all invoices payments will need to be done through projects. The reports will be inside the projects
How does one include on project invoice a “balance forward” for that projects past invoice. Currently balance forward shows total customer balance forward and not by project.
You could use projects. It depends on the size of the projects if it is a large one then yes. The purpose of projects is to make sure the cash flow is positive for the projects. If you want to track income and expenses yes, if not I would not recommend.
Hi Claudia! I upgraded my plan to use the project feature. Will I be able add older existing invoices? Or would I have to delete the existing invoice and start over?
Hi is there any way we can lock Exp amount and when we pay more then locked exp it give alert -for example for particual project supplies should not more then $40,000.00 but and if i entered supplies bills more than $40,000 give me alert for the same - please guide -Thanks
Hello, big question for us: is it possible to split a bill among different projects to calculate project profitability when one service/product is used on different projects?
Yes it is, when you enter the bill split between the two projects you can enter the total bill split between each line and select a project for each line. Pay the bill and match it in banking. You can split the bill with as many projects as you need to.
Hello. This is a great video. Thank you for posting. My question is about how entering in project affects QuickBooks? Do I have to receive a payment twice? Once for the QuickBooks client and again for the Project client?
@@ClaudiaXperts but then what happens when I delete that project? Will it delete all the transactions too? Thank you so much for your reply. You don’t know how much I appreciate it
@@brigittecrawley2727 There is a limit on classes for the plus of 40, but no limits on projects. It does get out of hand with too many though. You are supposed to close it as complete.
@@ClaudiaXperts yes but it doesn't automatically populate to job from QB time. I have to go in and add employee rate which is time consuming unless you know a better way.
You must create the estimate from inside the project. Click on projects create the project I’d not already created. Then create the estimate inside the project.
I am beginning work with a new client this week who uses Projects and this video was extremely helpful! Thank you!
So glad it helped you! Thanks for watching and sharing your comments, it means a lot!!

You will need to create the invoice inside the project in order to show in the project.
Would you recommend using Project for non-profit organizations who receive income from multiple sources (grants, fundraisers, etc.)?

Hi Javonica, you will need to delete and create the invoices inside the project.
@@ClaudiaXperts thank you so much, yes you're correct, I tried that and it worked.

There is no alert for that Geet, just need to verify the reports.
Thanks for teaching us how to use quickbooks!

So never DELETE a project then 😂. Instead mark as COMPLETED so as to not lose the QB entries? So we can have up to 40 “IN PROGRESS” jobs?

this if helpful but how do you add a sales receipt
You can only create invoices in Projects no sales receipt.
We are exporting firm so should i use project for every LC
You could, the main goal is to track your profitability for a project.
Why is the labor you added not showing up under expenses to deduct from profit.
It should be under Cost of Labor on the top right after the Profit
