- No one is quite sure why, but Milwaukee has the highest concentration of frozen custard shops in the world! To be specific, frozen custard is not ice cream, but the sinfully creamy experience has been popular here since it was invented at New York's Coney Island in 1919. Mo Rocca took a tour of some of Milwaukee's frozen custard hot spots, and some of the snack's biggest fans.

i worked for many of my teenage years at a classic custard stand in milwaukee wisconsin i made frozen custard at kitts frozen custard . my brothers wifes father was the owner and his father was the original kitts custard creator. i am proud to say i made frozen custard in milwaukee in the early 1980s. 1-31-2023.

I had frozen custard in Phoenix for the first time at Freddy's. It was delicious. I'll have to go back to their Victorville location on the way to Vegas from SoCal.

Doesnt matter, because the best frozen custard in the united states is Abbotts in Rochester NY. Founded by a man with a dessert cart in 1902 and serving from the lake Ontario waterfront location since 1926. I have to make at least 1 trip home from Baltimore every summer to get my Abbotts fix

I remember Glenn's Custard growing up in Pittsburgh. Only open in summer. As a kid, I thought amazing business to be in and still be a success, open less than half a year!
