    🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
KOF 99 takes place exactly two years after the end of the 1997 tournament. With the combined strength of Iori Yagami and his unstoppable power, Kyo Kusanagi and the holy flames, and Chizuru Kagura, the ancient force known as Orochi was defeated and sealed away in eternity. Once the battles were over, the last representative of the Yagami mysteriously disappeared, while an exhausted Kyo fell. It is then that a new threat, known as Krizalid, appears.
Following the championship since its inception, he saw the possibility of achieving his ambitious plan: world domination through soldiers created based on the DNA of the most powerful warriors of the notorious tournament. With Iori gone, Krizalid captured Kyo who, unable to fight, ended up being an easy target. When he finally woke up months later, Kyo managed to escape the nefarious laboratory. However, Krizalid's main objective had already been achieved and the first two clones were created. However, despite being based on the red flame fighter, they had little battle experience. To get more information for his copies, the villain resurrected The King of Fighters tournament. Thus, after two years without its realization, the greatest fighters on the planet receive the letter of invitation. Some refuse, while others accept, forming new and unexpected alliances.
In this way, another championship begins...
Two years had passed since the fatal battle against the Orochi Clan. During this period, the winds of peace blew again. Shingo Yabuki, with the intention of honoring his master's memory and with the help of Benimaru Nikaido, formed a team with two enigmatic warriors. Both were silent, but had furious looks, showing no trace of feeling. His dark auras, added to his violent techniques, aroused bad feelings from the other participants. Their names, as mysterious as their lives, were K' and Maxima. No one knew their real purpose, but many obviously had their suspicions.
The most incredible thing was the entry of two isolated participants. It was about two Kusanagi! It was remarkable how the two resembled the most powerful of fighters, Kyo Kusanagi. Both were clones and used the legendary Kusanagi techniques that made four-time champion Kyo the legend he is. How could they be there? Did they know anything about Kyo's whereabouts? Before any questions could be asked, the tournament was already in development.
For this tournament, there were many changes regarding formations, especially due to the fact that now there are four components per team. New alliances were formed, such as Shingo finally being accepted as a full-time member of Team Heroes. Some fighters turned down their participation, like Chizuru Kagura.
With the disappearance of Iori Yagami and Kyo Kusanagi, some teams were profoundly altered and the vacancy for main fighters in Team Heroes was filled by two key warriors for the plot: K'Dash and Maxima, two members of the clan known as NESTS.
Despite being out of action for two long years, the fighters were able to develop new and devastating techniques that were lighting up the battlefield brighter than ever before! It was the battle that signaled the beginning of a new millennium! The fourth member rule made fights much more strategic and the formation of a new champion spurred warriors to do their best. This time more than ever. With the memory of Kyo in their minds and the shadow of Orochi's Power seeming just a bad dream, the contestants could unleash true power without fear or regret. The sense of revenge and countdown has been replaced by the glory and excitement of being in front of an opponent worthy of fighting with all his might, becoming a more complete and skilled fighter!
Led by the hands of K' and Maxima, Benimaru and Shingo achieved their dream of reaching the final match, becoming the new figures of the King of Fighters.
The last fight took place in a very different place: the sewers. While the new Team Heroes was waiting for the other team to arrive, the sewage flow dried up, as well as some cables running underneath them. Suddenly they found themselves standing on a metal surface. As if that wasn't enough, the ground started to move and sent the four warriors crashing down! It was a massive elevator platform that was sending the fighters underground to an unknown location.
Meanwhile, the Warriors of Ikari, commanded by mercenary squad chief Heidern, were monitoring various parts of the world and discovered a remarkably strange pattern. Various radio waves were being emitted from many countries. Heidern ordered them to investigate the origins of such signals and, to his surprise, all the signals came from exact replicas of Kyo Kusanagi! There were Kyos all over the world: among the citizens of
