This is an important discussion. I really enjoyed listening to it. Both Ermias and Kesis handled the criticism really well. This is very educational for everyone to listen to and I highly recommend it for everyone. Please share!
This criticism is not about just the author, I hope people understand this. The criticism points to a much deeper problem we have as a society, for instance our cultural and religious education and most importantly, our intellectual education is extremely poor, authors like Dr. Wase, while attempting to educate the public, they spread misconceptions and misleading ideas. Thus, we have to be thankful for Ermias and Kesis for bringing this up and show us in criticism the misconceptions we need to clear in our minds and heart. But please don’t be mistaken, we still need to appreciate the author for writing this work and encourage everyone to do the same ✍️. This is how we educate one another and get purified as individuals. Public discourse is extremely important.
    Yonas,
    Thank you

Yoni, any scholarly criticism should be grounded in facts, evidence, and well-supported arguments. However, what I heard from this PODCAST is subjective, personal mis-interpretation and articulated in such a way just to mis-represent what hasn't been written. You said " authors like Dr. Wase, while attempting to educate the public, they spread misconceptions and misleading ideas...". Can you share us those misconceptions and misleading ideas from book?, I loved to hear that. finally, my question to podcasters is, how well does they understand the author’s intent?

@@Wond-wosseNHi Wondwossen, it is clear to me that their criticism is based upon what is said in the book. It only requires good intellectual and moral judgment and I believe both Kesis and Ermi demonstrate good judgement. But I do understand your point why you think what you heard sounds very subjective and personal to you. It is just not very common for us to hear criticisms, especially about those works we regard to be good simply due to popularity. And we simply expect the same sentiment and sensitivity everywhere without discrimination. For my opinion, we need to appreciate criticisms such as this. And at the same time, we need to maintain, of course, a good sense of positivity and humor. We just need to learn this as a skill I believe, otherwise we just think every criticism is personal because that is how we grew up hearing and it makes us so insecure to expose our weaknesses and opinions. Another thing is that this is going to be very helpful for those who want to read books critically and it is true that most people are naive readers. They just like to take face values. But this kind of discussion can help those read critically.
      Misconceptions
      1. እምነት እና ሚስጢር
      2. የትውልድ ችግር እና የሃይማኖት እውነታ
      3. What is a good type of literature? ጥሩ ስነ-ፅሁፍ ምንድ ነው?
My brother, do not undermine the damage such works do to people. It spoils the taste of good works and leave us empty, become extremely shallow and superficial culture. If you have a difficulty imagining this: ask you yourself -can I translate this work into English and bring it to the general global audience? What do you think? I am not sure if very few people would say it deserves a translation. Thus, it is our home work to do critical projects so the work we do have some universal significance and cultivate a good taste . That is all for me. I hope this comment helps. Thanks!

Critique is very helpful if it is done correctly, to create the polarity and help engage your audience with your book review , one of of you should at least play the devil advocate for the author
