What a lovely feathered family you have there! Mucho respect & admiration for the lifetime's worth of love & dedication you have bestowed upon your extended flock. Indeed, it takes a special spirit to make such a commitment. As TourBus04 so succinctly states below: "They're not toys." They're not going to patiently & silently sit on a shelf in your room awaiting a playful mood to overtake you. They're sentient beings, obviously; but even I, in all my animal-loving wisdom, wasn't entirely aware, until at least a few years ago, re the depth of these birds' intelligence, sensitivity, & individual characters. My mother passed away on the 11th of this month and she loved watching videos of Pebbles and other birds. She had a few small birds when she was younger so she had a good laugh from the antics of Pebbles, Eric, and Ruby. Eric is a cockatoo from Australia and Ruby is a parrot in the UK. My mother had a lot of medical problems and in pain but your little friend and her ilk brought joy to my mother's days. Thank you!
Cockatoos are very attention full animals and VERY loud. You can’t hear it in the videos but they’re very loud. They wake you every morning early and you can’t sleep and go out with friends. Your life is gone when you have one and you must be able to commit to taking care of a beautiful cockatoo. I work with them and they need attention. If you’re thinking about getting one listen to the advice given here and by me and others. Never start with a cockatoo. Not even a goffin. Start with a small bird like a conure or a grey. Then if you’re ready try a goffin! Happy you made this video! We see many people bringing in cockatoos and it’s sad because people see memes and videos and they get cockatoos and hate the screams and dump them at rescues.

It has been said that only about 2% of parrot savvy owners can really handle a cockatoo. Those are very special people who have a special place in heaven for their patience and devotion.

I'm glad that you made this video. Pebbles is an awesome cockatoo that needs an owner that can be there for her 24/7. She is a screamer for sure when attention is withdrawn. I thank you for being honest and showing what a real Cockatoo can be like. I also thank you for the videos of Pebbles, they were so funny and made me laugh after a long day of horrible work. I can see know that you can't handle this bird with your occupation, and I couldn't either. I hope that you can give her to a zoo or bird organization that breeds birds like her. She would deliver some awesome offspring. It will be sad to get rid of her, I can feel your pain, but sometimes these things have to happen.

A very good message! Thanks Kelly. I got to look after a Crow for five months and let me tell you - I was way out of my element. I am just happy it was for a bit. Yikes. I mean a beautiful intelligent Bird though she was not into anyone else except her owner. She was a hoot though - hiding my change, keys ect. It's too bad that he didn't release her back to the wilds but he didn't. Yep, very important message here for these birds are definitely not for everyone. BTW it was good to see y'all again but it was sad to see pebbles in the cage does she still cuss .if not maybe I need to teach her a few new words one day in my bar and she would have everyone told off . Glad to see you guys are back. Looks like a lot of folks didn't watch the complete video or read the description before commenting. My little sun conure Prescott yells at anyone wearing a white baseball cap. I feel so bad for our apartment grounds keeper. My cockatiel Yuki will loudly wolf whistle at passerby's. Hopefully your video and other cockatoo videos of Max, Onni and Gotcha to see how much work and patience it takes to care for these larger birds before going out to get one on impulse. I myself have rescues of a sun conure, two cockatiels one of whom is 29 and a canary. Even with smaller birds its a lot of work. And to top it off I have 2 senior cat rescues. Thankfully I'm retired so I can better care for them all.
My rescued rough collie HAD to watch this video. She kept looking and tilting her head and even licked the computer screen. Never barked just looked with interest. She is a PERFECT Collie. When the video was over she looked around to see if there were any birds in the house.
Kelly...I truly believe that Pebble would be lost without you and would die if you gave her up. She loves you truly, with all of her being. Please don't leave her or give her away. She's 1 in a million.

I've been in bird stores. I will vouch for this video. Cockatoos (and sometimes other birds) can be *very* loud and persistent, especially when they want attention. Absolutely, you should give them plenty of attention, but you can't be there 24/7, and spoiling birds too much can make them dependent on your company. That doesn't mean, don't spoil them. Just not too much. They are wonderful birds, despite all this.
I was walking in the Blue Mountains in Australia and, after watching a pair of brilliant red king parrots swoop overhead, I turned my attention to an ungodly noise coming from a nearby overlook. Well, at least I thought the screeching was nearby - it turned out to be a tree full of wild sulfur crested cockatoos across the valley! They were just being birds, having a grand old time yakking and calling and basically behaving as God made them. And I thought yeah, they keep these guys in a one bedroom apartment? I love them so much, I have always wanted one, but sadly I have resigned myself to seeing them on walkabouts, whenever I can get back to Oz.

Everybody knows not to ignore a cockatoo and YES I do want a cockatoo. I had an umbrella over 25 years ago and I miss having my perpetual 4 year old. And after surviving cancer I want one even more.
Nice to see you again. When I first saw the title of the video, I wondered if pebbles finally got to be too much for you to handle- nice to see that isn't the case. I eventually want a umbrella or molacan cockatoo, even though they can be noisy.
The only reason the natural call of parrot-type birds is so ear-splitting - is cause most folks listen to it indoors. When they're free out in the open, that noise communicates with other birds miles away... not so bad in the open air. "Velcro-bird" I'm familiar with this habit, Labrador dogs want to be grafted to your skin ALL the time... and the Russian Blue cat I adopted, I'm pulling him off so I can do something, and he's grabbing hold and pulling IN while I'm pulling OFF! He's like a magnetic sand-bag! 🤣🤣🤣

A very good message! Thanks Kelly. I got to look after a Crow for five months and let me tell you - I was way out of my element. I am just happy it was for a bit. Yikes. I mean a beautiful intelligent Bird though she was not into anyone else except her owner. She was a hoot though - hiding my change, keys ect. It's too bad that he didn't release her back to the wilds but he didn't. Yep, very important message here for these birds are definitely not for everyone.

BTW it was good to see y'all again but it was sad to see pebbles in the cage does she still cuss .if not maybe I need to teach her a few new words one day in my bar and she would have everyone told off . Glad to see you guys are back. Looks like a lot of folks didn't watch the complete video or read the description before commenting. My little sun conure Prescott yells at anyone wearing a white baseball cap. I feel so bad for our apartment grounds keeper. My cockatiel Yuki will loudly wolf whistle at passerby's. Hopefully your video and other cockatoo videos of Max, Onni and Gotcha to see how much work and patience it takes to care for these larger birds before going out to get one on impulse. I myself have rescues of a sun conure, two cockatiels one of whom is 29 and a canary. Even with smaller birds its a lot of work. And to top it off I have 2 senior cat rescues. Thankfully I'm retired so I can better care for them all.
My rescued rough collie HAD to watch this video. She kept looking and tilting her head and even licked the computer screen. Never barked just looked with interest. She is a PERFECT Collie. When the video was over she looked around to see if there were any birds in the house.

I've been in bird stores. I will vouch for this video. Cockatoos (and sometimes other birds) can be *very* loud and persistent, especially when they want attention. Absolutely, you should give them plenty of attention, but you can't be there 24/7, and spoiling birds too much can make them dependent on your company. That doesn't mean, don't spoil them. Just not too much. They are wonderful birds, despite all this.

I was walking in the Blue Mountains in Australia and, after watching a pair of brilliant red king parrots swoop overhead, I turned my attention to an ungodly noise coming from a nearby overlook. Well, at least I thought the screeching was nearby - it turned out to be a tree full of wild sulfur crested cockatoos across the valley! They were just being birds, having a grand old time yakking and calling and basically behaving as God made them. And I thought yeah, they keep these guys in a one bedroom apartment? I love them so much, I have always wanted one, but sadly I have resigned myself to seeing them on walkabouts, whenever I can get back to Oz.
I am very happy to see pebble back. I like her sweet voice.

Everybody knows not to ignore a cockatoo and YES I do want a cockatoo. I had an umbrella over 25 years ago and I miss having my perpetual 4 year old. And after surviving cancer I want one even more.
Nice to see you again. When I first saw the title of the video, I wondered if pebbles finally got to be too much for you to handle- nice to see that isn't the case. I eventually want a umbrella or molacan cockatoo, even though they can be noisy.
The only reason the natural call of parrot-type birds is so ear-splitting - is cause most folks listen to it indoors. When they're free out in the open, that noise communicates with other birds miles away... not so bad in the open air. "Velcro-bird" I'm familiar with this habit, Labrador dogs want to be grafted to your skin ALL the time... and the Russian Blue cat I adopted, I'm pulling him off so I can do something, and he's grabbing hold and pulling IN while I'm pulling OFF! He's like a magnetic sand-bag! 🤣🤣🤣
