Great Reads is a series of 200+ videos. I talk about books, fiction and non-fiction, which I have liked, for various ages, from children to adults. There will be a new video each Sunday and Wednesday. My Starting Point is Trees, but One Thing Leads to Another, like branches, to include animals and trees, Africa, China, the Age of Exploration, Australia, flight, North America, gardening and plants, the poles, life in the oceans, boats, islands, journeys, and back to trees. Thank you for sharing these wonderful children's books. I am a gardener and a lover of children's literature. I own several of the books you have shown in this video and am now inspired to go and pluck several from their shelves including Joyful Noise by Paul Fleischman. Have you read The Gardener by Sarah Stewart and illustrated by David Small or her book The Money Tree?

Thank you, Priscilla, for your enthusiastic comment and your two suggestions. That is the kind of sharing I hoped might happen. My overall intent is to illustrate how one can educate oneself by following one's interests. I started with trees and this series seems to circle around and I will be looking at trees again much later and will certainly be using Sarah Stewart's and her husband's David Small's The Money Tree. It's a great one. As for their The Gardener, I have included it in this first look at gardening. It appeared in video #84 on Oct. 20th. That video is called Play with Your Food.
This first look at plants will continue until April 27, 2025 and video #139. The videos on plants started with #80 on Oct. 6.

@@startingpoints7135 I just found your channel today so I will be visiting some of your earlier videos. I am trying to get my environmental group (adults) to read some picture books in the hopes of encouraging reading in general on the topic of our Environment.

@@priscillacordero4587 You and I have similar hopes. My deciding to make these videos started with a desire to focus on the natural world. I find that one thing leads to another and that is not always about the natural world, but I return to looking at the natural world. This might help you find all the previous videos in order then your can scroll down until you find something that interests you. Copy this in search th-cam.com/video/TpskMza5oL8/w-d-xo.html. It will show the first ones on trees. If you look in the top right you will see "All" then right of it "From the series". Click on "From the series". I hope this makes things easier. All the best with helping others.
