  • A uniform thin rod of length L and mass M is free to rotate on a frictionless pin passing through one end. The rod is released from rest in the horizontal position. (a) What is the speed of its center of gravity when the rod reaches its lowest position? (b) What is the tangential speed of the lowest point on the rod when it is in the vertical position

    I actually obtained indeed identical results the only difference is I used rotational form of Newton's second law and then I summed the all the torques acting on the rod then I use uniformly accelerated motion equation to solve for the final angular velocity which turned out to be having an angle in the equation which for in this case is pi over 2 radians so my equation for angular velocity has pi over 2 in the square root for the equation. Please assist me!
