- ACU Belles BTC Round 5 & 6 Trial Report:
After a couple months break from the Ladies BTC, we were back with a bang with 2 Rounds over on the IOM🇮🇲
I got my life packed away in the van, headed to work and after completing my 24 hour shift the journey to island began. I got my ferry from Heysham, got some food when I docked and then crashed at family friends on night 1.
I got to the venue at Knock Froy nice and early, set up my Latitude Roof Home ready for the next 2 nights and then got the bike prepped. Santos was ready to rock and looking absolutely mint in his fresh set of graphics from Amped that are sporting all my amazing sponsors logos🔥
My start time arrived, I got warmed up and headed to the 1st section. I got off to a bit of a shaky start with nerves but improved as the laps went on. The sun was shining and I’m not going to lie, I think I got mild heat stroke by not quite drinking enough, which definitely did not help my riding. There was also some super challenging bits on Saturday that were the same as what the Ladies Championship Class were having to do, so I’m super proud to have made it through them parts!🙏🏻 Shoutout to Katie and her minder Gary for taking me under their wing and looking after me as I was on my own👊🏻 There was some pretty big scores all round Saturday and I took P5.
On Sunday they had eased off some of the tougher parts, but they were still challenging nonetheless! I got off to a less shaky start on Day 2 which I was pleased about and some small changes in my suspension that Gary did for me after Day 1 had me feeling a lot stronger on the bike. I learnt from my mistake on Saturday of not drinking enough also and made sure I chugged 500ml of water per lap, which kept me feeling much more energetic! And overall I had a pretty solid ride and was much more pleased with my performance on Day 2, but sadly two stupid 5’s on my final lap from an unfortunate bike issue that occurred cost me big time as I was 4 points off 3rd place, and if I’d have got cleans or even 3’s on them two sections, I’d have made the podium, so I was absolutely devastated to have been so close🥲 So it was two P5’s for me this time👎🏻
It was a great weekend regardless of me being a bit disappointed in myself, but every misfortune is a lesson I can become better from, so onto the next one this Sunday down in Chelmsford!✊🏻💨 - กีฬา
