I would say, listen to Piazzolla’s version with his memorable quintet. These talented folks are European, and play with breathtaking speed, but the mood of the original piece is nowhere to be found.

Cuando alguien hace una versión de un tema no busca superarlo, ni igualarlo. Es solo una versión. Aclaraciones como "copiar", "igualar", "peso piazzolliano" son irrelevantes.

Audiences need to be explicitly told, on the way in, that clapping along enthusiastically in what they imagine to be time is never, ever a good idea. "Oh look, he's strumming his little violiny thing. How cute - let's all clap along! " No! Bad! A good clip on the side of the head from a team of stop-clapping thugs would disrupt the concert, but would be a valuable lesson for the future.
