Man, I am a novice rider as it is and have not had a bike in like 5 years, but you make me want to get one and ride so bad, especially cause I live like 20 miles away from windrock park.
Funny story. I knew the guy that kinda started Windrock. Larry Hutchens was his name. Back in the 90s they used to get busted by the coal and timber companies back in there and after getting busted so many times they decided to see what they could do about making it legal. A few of us rode that very trail you guys were on before it was actually Windrock! I spent the better part of 10 years on the weekends riding and exploring that area. Haven't ridden it in a long time man. I want to park at windrock and ride north up to Oneida soon on the DR and do some of Jeff's KAT. Love that area and I'm in Upstate SC so not super far from us.
This looks like a lot of fun. I haven't ridden since around 1983, but plan to get back into it now that I'm retired and need the exercise. I live in Knoxville, so windrock isn't that far and it looks like there's a lot of trails and fun times. Do you guys just get a yearly pass?

Ya missed all the single track!!!!! That’s the tough part at windrock it’s not marked you have to know where it is. I’ve got some marked , we will probably ride brown flats first day then park down by rocky top 2nd and 3rd day. I wish I knew the secret hard enduro trail over by those cabins in Oliver springs , but I’m not paying guides right find it anymore lol.
GoPro Hero 7 Black, using 2.7K resolution at 60fps. The audio is set on stereo mode and I use a foam cover that covers the entire camera to remove wind noise. There is a wind mode on the camera as well however the audio is full time muffled sounding which I didn't like. Stereo sounds much better but you want a foam cover that way you don't have wind noise.
Is this whole place fireroads and wide trails or are there single track technical trails also? Hillclimbs? I moved here from Texas and it's flat there, looking for some technical elevation trails...
Windrock has lots of two track (side x side/Jeep) trails spanning over 73,000 acres and there are many trails with hillclimbs and elevation change. It is far from flat out here lol. I actually ride with a guy who's also from Texas. As for the the single track, it is kept a secret and is not part of the trail system.
Looking to relocate to the surrounding area. We are a family that rides. I have been watching a lot of your video's. I wanted to make sure there was riding In Tennessee before moving there. Can't wait. We will have to meet and ride. Also does Windrock have kid friendly trails??
Which part of TN are you looking to move to? Our group is mostly from the Knoxville area and it's a great city to live in and is close to Windrock. Keep in mind Windrock is very catered towards the side x side and Jeep crowd however there are many great trails for the dirt bike as well as you can see by my videos. The trails are all rated with various difficulty levels. The easier ones are definitely kid friendly. I can certainly show you around so that way you know which trails to ride and which ones to maybe steer clear of.
We are looking into Sevierville area. I'm good with all the terrain. I currently like to ride in Stonyford located here in Ca. They have a lot of youtube video's as well. Is November still a good month to ride there?
@@justinlane9611 Haha no worries. We actually have a few guys in our group who live in Sevierville. So you're coming from Cali that's cool, I'm from SoCal myself. I will tell you, living AND riding here are a complete 180 from living and riding out West. Very different! In a good way though. People out here are too dang nice so don't be wondering why people talk to you and want to know how your day is lol. Also we get a lot more rain than Cali so we have a bit more mud here and there, not so much dust. As for November yes riding is still great, we pretty much ride year-round which is awesome. Hit me up on my Instagram with your number so we can keep in touch for when you do come out. Search for Moto Head Braap on there.
I'm thinking of buying a Kawasaki KLR650. 432 lb. I think it will be hard for me to pick up if I ride trail 51. Problem is I will be riding 60 miles to get there si U need a bike good on the highway and good on trails. Any suggestions?
@@JustBraap There is a shortage of Japanese bikes due to the virus shutting down the factories. A few are coming in . I Bought a 2017 DR650SE (324 lb dry , 366 lb wet, and a 2018 new Brozz 250 (264 lb dry + 23 lb wet). The Brozz only has 15 hp but that is all it needs. I think a Kawasaki KLR650 would be best for cross country with some easy off road rides. I think Itchy Boots would like it but not for this ride LOL. She rode this on a CRF250L Honda (346 lb wet). @@JustBraap i have a 2015 crf450x and honestly I ride everything! I love the hard enduro stuff more than anything, I've road everything from dessert to single track. I used to race but I have a family so my priorities have changed a little lol

Yeah yearly pass. You can get that at the Windrock general store at the main park. It's $100 for the year. Pays for itself in 4 trips.

We didn't miss it, we just avoided some of it because it was a slick day. The leaf coverage is really bad right now.

Yeah that’s pretty heavy. Have you checked out the Honda CRF450RL? Much lighter and a perfect setup for both street and off-road.
