- Last weekend the Efteling reopened Raveleijn to the public. Some changes have been made to the show during the winter break. For instance, a new scene involving Ruiter Joost and two guards has been added.
Due to lot's of questions about the story I have decided to add English and Dutch subtitles to this video. You can turn them on in TH-cam's settings!

God de nostalgie dit was zo ongelofelijk in 2019 het was echt zo cool toen de mechanische hydra out de gebouwen kwam en de hitte van de vlammenwerpers was zo cool.
ik ben nu al fan van die show! en ik ga er als we naar de efteling gaan ook in!top!
We zijn gisteren naar de nieuwe show geweest (2022), en ik was zo teleurgesteld. Het hele verhaal is eruit gehaald, het zijn alleen nog wat truukjes. De 2019-show was veeeeeeel beter!

This show was my childhood. Efteling is the home of my fondest memories and as a kid I watched the series again and again until I finally more or less understood it, even though I don't speak the language. This show was my favorite. The moment when the epic music started and the knights poured in was just breathtaking... Gotta say I liked the older versions (with more detail and less stunt) a bit better. But it's still great!
Yeah it's all just personal preference, the story of the first show definitely was more interesting but it also made the show a bit boring in my opinion. I think I personally prefer the versions since 2013.
That robotic dragon looks like the robot version of the Hydra from Jason and the Argonauts (1963).
Oh yeah I can see the similarities! Maybe they were inspired by that?

I would wait until everything is normal again. I saw it yesterday and they don’t even do half the show right now. I didn’t know the story before I went in and I didn’t understand anything, that’s how much they cut.

It's quite sad to see the current version of the show, but it is difficult to perform with corona measures. Hopefully they will bring back the full show soon, now that corona measures in the Netherlands have been lifted

The one in brown is Joost, blue is Lisa, purple is Emma, red is Thomas and green is Maurits. There’s also actually a tv-show made about the story, it was broadcast on Dutch television back in 2011 to promote the park’s new show.

The techinal and choreogarphy aspects of this show are AMAZING! The acting, though, could be better.

i agree but i think live acting like how they need to do it in itself is already difficult to do.
also as a horse rider myself i can guarantee. those stunts on the horses, difficult af because they stay horses that can get easily scared and you need to carry your own weight with some of the tricks while also controlling the horse. heck if you want to apply to do it yourself as well and they got a place. next 3 months you are in a training camp in france for it
In the older versions it was more about the acting, with the town characters even interacting on the stage as the audience sat down. They cut down a lot of characters though. (The owl maiden, her grandfather, a lot of the townspeople...)

Goed filmpje, goed gefilmd. Heel dit filmpje gewacht tot de vogels kwamen, niet gezien. Erg jammer dit.
Vanaf 3:27 tot 4:26 en vanaf 20:59 tot 21:11 zijn er raven te zien in de video. Op 6:16 vliegt er ook een valk door de arena, maar die is net buiten beeld.

Nah, even before corona it was shorter. Idk why, but before I remember there was a version without the huge gate in the middle and with more characters and events, which was longer.

Was op 4 mei 2024 geweest naar die show, ik was best wel gefrustreerd dat ze bijna alles van die show hebben aangepast. Ik vond die van 2019 veel leuker

In het begin stond die ravenlijn poort niet zo groot in het midden van het veld. Ik vond dat beter, nu kun je vaak dingen niet zien doordat er zo'n groot lomp ding midden in de voorstelling staat. Het zou beter zijn als er meer ruimte was voor de show dingen zoals het paardrijden en het vechten. Nu is alles krap. En de grote mechanische vijand zit veel te dicht op die poort, terwijl daarvoor de ruiters mooi het ''wezen'' konden omsingeling en het er meer als een echt gevecht uit konden laten zien. NU staan sommige awkward achter die poort met hun wapens, terwijl ze zogenaamd door de poort heen zijn gegaan naar die andere wereld. Het blijft er raar uit zien dat deze poort letterlijk in het midden van de show staat terwijl die uit beeld zou moeten zijn nadat ze er doorheen zijn. Ik hoop dat dit ooit weer aangepast word. Muziek is nog altijd geweldig.
Valt wel mee hoor
Ik vond persoonlijk de show vroeger juist ontzettend saai en slaapverwekkend, er gebeurde veel te weinig. Nu zit de show vol met stunts, waardoor het naar mijn mening een stuk beter is.

Helemaal met u eens inderdaad het verpest op die manier het verhaal het zou beter zijn als ze de poort en dat spul op een draaiplateau gooien dan kun je wanneer draconicon verschijnt de boel wegdraaien en dan komt het beest beter tot zijn recht nu kijk je inderdaad tegen zon grote poort aan en dat is jammer al vind ik deze show beter in elkaar gezet dan dat ze nu opvoeren
