hi there I have just found a nest in my yard and am also wanting to place a camera to observe them but I am scared that she may abandon them if i get too close ? were you concerned about this....?
jodie louise hello! I used a Go Pro camera which is quite small and discrete, thus far less likely to disrupt the nest. I recommend placing the camera 12 inches above the nest, making sure it’s securely fastened as you don’t want it dropping on the hatchlings!
Also , Im in Australia and its quite windy and rainy atm....the nest is actually under my washing line with only shadecloth protecting the nest should I put something a bit more substantial over the line or will mum make sure they stay covered? Thanks for replying...😉
