Whilst yes, other restorations and copies may be sharper, and may be in a slicker frame rate, and may have different colours, but presented here is a truly unique version we have worked on for the past few weeks, maybe a month. This version restores the classic short film back to it's open matte aspect ratio, features exclusive remastered/reworked audio mixed straight from the multitracks, remastered colours, and brand new special effects! Well yes! If you watch any behind the scenes of his "music videos" you would see that calling them videos is taboo. Michael calls them short films and prefers everyone else to call them that too. They are masterpieces!
@@Raine_Raine - Yes, indeed! My favourite is "Remember the Time" followed closely by MJ's "Ghosts" movie (33 min version). The music movie that makes me laugh the hardest is "Speed Demon" because of the claymation & live action in it. Michael is a genius for sure!

I love this comment !! Though it’s a saddening realization. I think about this often . I get on tiktok and there’s a video of the wembley stadium 87 tour where people were bawling their eyes out by the sight of Michael, stretchers carrying away so many who fainted from trying to get close and the overwhelming shook of seeing him in person, yet the show barely started. Growing up with Michael, every music video release premiere was a family gathering in front of the tv with popcorn! His infamous looks from Thriller era changed the fashion industry overnight. everything he did, every appearance was so huge! artists imitating or dressing like him was so common it wasn’t criticized much. A magical time in music. He changed the trajectory of the world in so many categories. No smartphones or advanced social media, but hundreds of thousands could tell you what day his new album was going to be in out stores. Release days outside of audio stores looked like Black Friday waiting lines. I want the newer generations to comprehend this as he was the first and last. You got me hyped up I need to go listen to Dirty Diana now. 😂❤️
I was not a Michael Jackson fan, but when Smooth Criminal came out, i couldn't stop watching. Dancing, costumes, make-up and story telling is superb. Everyone brought their best when this was filmed. Some of the best dance in human history.
Incredibly, some of his live shows showed case his real skills. The man sure used to put a LOT of time in to making his music more than just a song, it was an experience. Also, a lot of his music was very uplifting and had great messaging. I liked his music, but it's all kind of hard for me to separate the man from the allegations. zoinks.

The best section in this song is when the song just blasts to the main riff after a long instrumental break with gospel-like atmosphere. MJ would say that was to capture the whole visceral mood of all the frustrations, angst, tensions of this world and then blasting it out when the song kind of restarts again. Pure brilliance! An extraordinary artist who also created a visual masterpiece.

@@ouss4real Film can be scanned into HD and even 4K, my guy. They did it with the entirety of Star Trek and The Next Generation, Friends, Seinfeld, but also movies from Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and so on. If it's shot on film, it can be rescanned in HD and beyond. ^_^

Maybe they don't do it yet because of a question of expected profits from the releases or maybe it can be a legal question, purely a question of legal rights. As in the case of The Beatles's video material. There is a lot of filmed material that can be restored to a really exorbitant quality but they have decided not to do it because they can't yet define who owns the rights.

This is an absolutely phenomenal remaster - thank you. I was 14 and already a fan when this video came out but when it saw a clip I remember running upstairs and leaping around my room! I went from a casual fan to being obsessed! It was just on another level. I’d never seen anything so cool in my life. Sadly I had no idea how to buy concert tickets at that age so missed out on the Bad tour and had to wait until the Dangerous tour to see him live (three times!) and twice on the History tour. Thank you Michael - we miss you.

The creativity and storytelling MJ put in his songs and videos are just so inspiring. Literally in awe, because nowadays people do it to be likable or to just make a catchy hook but the adventure and message MJ pull you through, just beyond legendary.
The ending reminds me of the demo version found in one of his rare and obscure rehearsal videos dated 1986. Not only this video looks stunning in 4K, but you even managed to retain some of the grains in this video, just like some of the 4K rescans of Star Wars I've seen! Add to that the remix of the sound from scratch which makes this look like a massive live rehearsal, impressive work I must say!
