Wonderful job, I never knew of Stafford and i was a young boy when the Jean Miles issue was making headlines. Mr. Burroughs started out as a hero. When the nation needed a champion, he stepped up and did what was needed. That man could listen to the facts of a crime, identify the criminal who committed it and direct his men to where he could be located. However, humans could never be trusted with unchecked power. We always need a counterbalance to keep us on the straight and narrow. There came a time when no one challenged Mr. Burroughs and he strayed from his mandate. Some may argue that in his later years he did more harm than good. I think the lesson we could learn is absolute power should be afforded to no human, there should always an authority to hold one accountable.
