I use all clad Copper core and I really enjoy them, and they look amazing. I did buy a 12 qt stockpot from made in and it is a excellent piece and I’m very impressed with it. It almost makes me wish I would have chose made In instead of all clad, almost.
With that being said as far as quality and affordability I’d say made in is very hard to beat, and if I ever need any new pieces for my collection I will definitely consider and likely choose made in.

Bubbles are formed in nucleation sites. Uniform bubbling is very likely to be the result of uniformly polished surface, which is not a surprise when the pans are brand new.

You helped me make my choice, and I received my first made-in-pan today. I can't believe I nailed the cooking technique on my first attempt! I went big with my initial dish-I made breaded pork chops along with a mushroom and onion sauce. Nothing stuck or burned. After washing the skillet, I noticed it has sharp edges and dents on one side, so I'm going to exchange it. Other than that, I love it and have already ordered additional sizes.

Thanks for the unbiased review! I, too, bought my Made In Cookware more than three years ago, after seeing a favorable comparison to All Clad. We were/are on an anti-PTFE kick and wanted quality cookware not made in China. I love the stainless steel set (the rivet issue is a minor one for me, as I’m not bothered by a little buildup) but have never warmed up to their blue carbon steel pan. I just can’t get the hang of cooking with it and have never been able to get it to season properly. Would love your opinion on that product. I’ve always thought my cooking technique was the problem, but I’d love your thoughts.

I have an All Clad 12" and paid only $75 for it because of a $50 discount for getting an Amazon credit card. I have had it for 5 years and it is perfect. All Clad is considerable more expensive for stock pots and sauce pans, but their 12" frying pan is reaonable. I would also recomment Tramontina for other try ply cookware, as their sauce pans and stock pots are considerable cheaper than All Clad but perform just as well.

Okay, personally, I still prefer my All Clad D5 pieces. I think they are somewhat more forgiving when it comes to heating certain trickier foods although may be slightly less responsive (by design) to immediate temperature changes than the D3 or Made In pans. I feel like D5 requires slightly less supervision and I also prefer the polished stainless look. That said, that is being extremely nit-picky they are all excellent pans. I will say, price wise only certain types of pans are significantly cheaper from Made In - the price difference is not as wide as you may think. I do have the Made In Dutch Oven which I am VERY happy with. I nearly bought a Staub instead but am happy I saved the money. It is a truly excellent Dutch Oven that offers a nice blend of features. I have heard mixed things about Made In’s carbon steel pans (mostly with the seasoning process) although I’m definitely interested in giving them a try.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They advertise their pan to be non stick and I bought it in good faith. When I received it the pamplet says that it is not non stick and has to be sized like an iron skillet.
I have sent numerous emails and calls with the only response to fill out a return at my expense. This was false advertising.
and I feel they should have to pay for the return and refund my money. When calling many times they say they will give a recall within an hour, now three days later and many calls I have had no response. Only auto generated responses to my many attempts to contact customer service, have I received in 8 days since receiving the Carbon steel pan. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and I plan to post a review everywhere I can, including the BBB in hopes others don't get taken by this bad, bad company. You should buy anything except Made In if hyou want to be happy with your purchase and the company you bought it from

Made In cookware is inferior to All Clad on their craftsmanship. Recently I bought their 8-qt stock pot, but noticed the rivets that were used to attached the lid handle were of different sizes and shapes. When I contact Made In about their inferior quality control, they said I can return the product for a refund, less a restocking fee. I have this cookware set (stainless clad), it cooks well and they have good pan options except for a practice griddle (for pancakes/waffles). Only problem with it which is getting worse over time is the cookware stains easily and is a nightmare to clean, requires buying specific cleaning products (like their powder or BKF Powder) and even then after rigorous washing and cleaning/drying following insurrections the pans are still stained and this happened in two weeks from when I got them. The stainless clad should really be called stained clad because it absorbs everything like a blank canvas.

I have a Made In saucier, a D3 saucepan and another D5 saucepan (bigger). The Made In feels a little thinner than the D3 material, with the D5 far thicker than both. I actually like the D3 handle that nobody likes, but I like the control you have when you are pouring. The rounder "more comfortable" handles never feel as locked it. The Made in its good for people who favor a lightweight set and a slightly darker finish. But if I usually steer people to the D3 everyday collection if they ask, just cause it ends up a little less expensive and like you mentioned I like the shape of pan walls, less shallow, and the bottom area is even wider for the same size diameter (normal D3 is only for people like me who like the handles lol).
A few cosmetic things and nitpicks about the Made In. Brushed finish on the D3 seems brighter, at least on my pieces held side by side, and the polished all clads I think look better, but will make you crazy if you care about fingerprints. My made in is a little darker, almost nickel tinged instead of silvery. But my biggest beef with made in pans is when I got mine new, I washed it, but kept finding when I wiped it with a paper towel some residue was still left (this was the stainless steel not the carbon steel which is also a bear to prep for seasoning). I eventually had to hit it with some barkeepers friend, and a real thorough soak and rinse to get it to not have any more residue. I don't know what thats about.

I’ve had their 10” nonstick for about two years. It gets nearly daily use in our house on our Reagan-era electric coil stove, and cooks beautifully. Nice even heating, and, despite sometimes lackadaisical cleaning from one member of the family, easy to clean, too! Still looks practically brand new. We’re pretty careful to not scratch the surface, though, and we don’t put any of the made in pans in the dishwasher, even though they’re (mostly) dishwasher safe. I suspect that’s added to the longevity.

  • @Thommadura

People have been making gourmet food for centuries before the invention of the Clad Cookware. Copper is by far a better conductor and is generally preferred by Chef's where money is no object - they are expensive. However - today there are plenty of Brands of Clad cookware made in the USA and CHINA that are all generally pretty good. Spending huge amounts of money for the original brand is for the status conscious, but really makes no sense. Get a clad pan whose size fits your needs and is comfortable to handle for you. It is really personal preference there. Remember that you really do not need fully clad cookware for dishes that are cooked in Liquid - a stock pot with a Clad Disc on the bottom will work fine in that case and an Aluminum pot conducts heat even better. I suggest you comb the local flea markets for cookware - that you can clean back to life. With the exception of No-stick which are worthless - these pans are probably better than you will get today.

I don't buy those expensive advertised kitchen tools/cookware. I get my pots and pans from the same place restaurants get their supplies... at restaurant supplies store. You know restaurants doesn't use Made In cookwares or any brand name cookwares. They're too expensive specially if they're buying loads of them. Their costs would cut into their already small margin of profit.
My cookwares from restaurant supply are not terribly expensive as Made In and thy're widely used and tested/abused by cooks and chefs that works in the industry. Expensive named brand cookwares are for suckers. 😂

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I just spent $1,100.00 dollars on the 13 piece set, and as far as the carbon steel pan and wok, THEY ARE JUNK. I'm not a carbon steel newbie, so I know all about the seasoning process, etc... The stainless pots and pans are fine so far, but the biggest problem is their CUSTOMER SERVICE. TOTALLY RUDE and the lady hung up on me. I was not even being disrespectful, so my thinking is that she got offended with my feedback that the carbon steel product is complete crap. Stick with De Buyer or similar folks.
