Yes, GD created the first lightstick. Prior to VIP's lightstick, the other groups had either balloons or glowsticks. All of the colors were also taken and he didn't want to cause conflict with other groups, so he decided to create something totally unique from others. GD's lightstick for VIPs was so popular that other groups followed his lead to have personalized lightsticks with meaning to their fandoms/group concept. It has stuck ever since.

he did design the first personalized(shape and such) lightsticks for his fanbase, cause up until he did that they just had a straight up light stick of just one color. Yes, GD created the first lightstick. Prior to VIP's lightstick, the other groups had either balloons or glowsticks. All of the colors were also taken and he didn't want to cause conflict with other groups, so he decided to create something totally unique from others. GD's lightstick for VIPs was so popular that other groups followed his lead to have personalized lightsticks with meaning to their fandoms/group concept. It has stuck ever since.

Soooo excited GD is back and Taeyang/Daesung are both doing amazing with their solos... it's amazing to see them on a big stage again together.... would have loved if TOP joined them but I'm happy he is doing what he wishes, as along as they all happy.... he did design the first personalized(shape and such) lightsticks for his fanbase, cause up until he did that they just had a straight up light stick of just one color.
I remember suju was blue, shinee was cyan, snsd was pink, f(x) was purple, bigbang was yellow and so on. if i'm not mistaken some of the groups under other labels also had the yg logo on the boxes of their lightsticks cause they have the selling rights(?) i guess but i don't know if it's still a thing.
