    Some very good questions were asked in this one.
    some rather strange ones as well but overall this felt much more informative than most other interviews, thanks alot.

    This is a masterclass in navigating business discussions in China. Western entrepreneurs looking to venture into China, take note - Mohnish's approach is a textbook example of how to build rapport and win contracts in this dynamic market.
    The way he handled every question, especially the sensitive topic of regulation, without making the interviewer lose face, speaks volumes about his deep understanding of the Chinese market and its people.

    Mohnish is simply an exceptional individual. When the interviewer tells him that all the fans admire him very much and appreciate his words, he can only praise Charly Munger by saying that they follow him by chance because of how much Charlie is admired in China.

    Did Mohnish and Li Lu sell out of micron because it’s turned loss making again, and their thesis was it will eventually be continually profitable even during the troughs?

    • @selcukkarpuz689
      @selcukkarpuz689 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t think so. We can never know the exact reasons, but I think there are three reasons why they might have sold. 1) China ban on Micron chips, 2) Samsung lowering the prices to increase market share, 3) Increased CAPEX due to CHIPS act.

    Charlie and Warren are truly exceptional and one of their best character trait "rationality"
    They both make decisions based on a prudent analysis of the risks and rewards associated with the game. Irrespective of what's in the bag, a rational investor would have bid a sum that's insignificant commensurate to his net worth because of the paucity of information available
    ‘Assumption is the mother of all… (I am sure you know the rest of the quote)” - Steven Seagal: Under Siege 2
    Rationality is an assumption widely used in micro-economic models in trying to predict human behavior. I deliberately us the word ‘trying’ as we all know that predicting human behavior is exceptionally difficult.
    Why then use rationality? The answer is intuitive. It is not absurd to believe that an individual, when presented with choice will choose the one, taking cost into consideration, which will deliver the most benefit.

    Most Chinese stock investors are actually speculators who are lowly educated underclass people. In USA, most investors are upper middle class.

    Hello Mohnish Sir, Hope you are doing fine today. I am big fan of yours. I am also learning and observing the intelligent and smart investors to understand how they manager their money. I am trying to understand there is a record of KRBL buy bulk deal in 2018 but I cant see any sell record. To my surprise position was made at the TOP. Just curious to know how this big position was closed. If you get a chance to see this message, It would be great if you can respond to my query please. Much appreciated

    Big takeaway: Get rid of most of your friends and upgrade to better ones

    • @justinbeghly1435
      @justinbeghly1435 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is the advantage/edge that successful, big portfolio managers have over us. If I get rid of all my friends now, I’ll be home with just my dog and wife forever. But that’s okay, I like the edges we have over the big guys better. And besides, we have all the people we need to look up to on TH-cam any time, for free with no need to return anything

    Find his grading of people very off-putting. Seems like having Munger as his friend has gone to his head.
    Then he talks about only having givers in your life, when he is busy calculating whether somebody is worth anything to him.
    Instead, try and be kind.
