Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Based on the Marvel Comics superhero Miles Morales, it will be the second game in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, following Marvel's Spider-Man (2018). The game was announced at the PlayStation 5 reveal event in June 2020 and is due to be released for the PlayStation 4 and as a launch title for the PlayStation 5 in November 2020. The narrative continues from where Marvel's Spider-Man and its downloadable content The City That Never Sleeps left off, during which Miles Morales was bitten by a genetically-enhanced spider and gained powers similar to Peter Parker's. A year after the first game's conclusion, Morales has trained under Parker and has fully integrated himself into the role of a Spider-Man, though he has yet to gain the experience. In this video Dreamcastguy does a brutally honest review of Spider-man Miles Morales on the PS4 Pro and PS5 while showing gameplay of the combat, upgrades, new suits, unlockables, side quests, and some stuff about the main story missions without spoiling anything. This review is all done by DreamcastGuy and is brutally honest. After Parker leaves to join his girlfriend, Daily Bugle reporter Mary Jane Watson abroad as her photographer presumably to cover the ongoing civil war in Symkaria, Miles is left as New York's sole webslinger. He must thus balance supporting his mother Rio Morales' campaign for City Council and defending both his new home in Harlem and the rest of New York City from a gang war between the Roxxon Energy Corporation and a high-tech criminal army called the Underground, led by the Tinkerer. Parker tells Morales that he has to be like his late father and walk on the path to becoming a hero for the city of New York.

I tend to tack on 7 to 10 more hours to my gameplay beyond what I see in reviews for playtimes because they play too fast to meet a deadline so it's not a realistic measure to me

Or the time he was chilling with Mephisto and reset the timeline.
Think he was meaning to his core and heart. Spidey shone will always be NY and always be protecting it. But unlike Ironman or Thor who fly all over the world or other realms, he’s just a guy from the streets of NY doing what he can there. Occasional teams up with everyone and does world saving crisis’s at times when the situation calls for it though.

This was the opposite of a "BRUTAL" review.
I just start this game and fell like I have been here before story wise
True but it also is like a "welcome home" comfort wise 👍😊 and on ps5 with the ray tracing and snow effects, it really shines. I personally just finished spiderman 2 weeks before the ps5 release, so it being fresh in my mind and this picking up right where it left off feels really good. Only thing I really hate is BEN JORDAN as peter parker! I love jon bubniak and thought he looked just right(age wise and look, he's suppose to be mid to late 20's here) and the new guy looks to be 17 again and to me it made no sense since he's a mentor to miles Morales smh but I digress haha.
So it's mostly more of the same with next gen enhancements. That's not such a bad thing when the original is so good.
Everything feels more refined then the first game, swinging is way better and has over 30 tricks, the game loads quicker then the first game, and combat is amazing, so it’s pretty good imo (Played on PS4 Pro).

This game wasn't supposed to be so long. Think about it like this: the first spiderman ps4 game was the first one (1) and this game is like the 1.5. They gave us something small while we wait for something big as the next spiderman game (2). Maybe that game will include both Miles and Peter. Who knows.

From some I’ve heard 8 hrs, and from others I’ve heard around 13 hrs. Honestly, it’s not that short. Plus it looks amazing. Games don’t have to be 20+ hours long to be good.
All i know is that i play games hella slow. So 8 hrs while be 16 for me.
They should make it a bit longer just cuz there’s not much replay after u beat the campaign imo

nah, it needs to continue focusing on gameplay & making the Symbiote Suit a great counterpart to Miles’s bio electricity. Cause As of now gameplay Wise Miles is a WAY better game.

7.5 from me. The web swinging is great and the new tricks are a highlight. Suits are overall ok outside of Spiderverse and 2020 which are killer. Like the new venom powers but the new enemies don’t really have any profitable weaknesses outside of using venom. Story is overall good but could’ve benefitted from 4/5 more missions and the final boss fight is a clunky mess. PS4 version has trouble loading cutscenes and froze a couple times during gameplay. The primary negatives for me are the suit mods, which are basically percentage upgrades and not cool new abilities. And too much is locked behind ng+: The final tier of all skill trees, final suit, final gadget upgrades, and final suit mods. All of which are underwhelming
They really locked all that behind ng+? Hella lame. Probably did it as a grind since the game’s so short. Still, boo.
I love the new animation for your rating! This game as a fun game looks amazing! missing some of those extra flourishes, but really solid.
I’m not paying 50$ for a 12 hour open world dlc of the original Spider-Man. Which is way less than the original imo. game quality looks great but I’ll wait till it’s on sale where the runtime actually matches the price

MM improves on 2018 in pacing, progression, traversal improvements, and more interesting sidequests, art + No.MJ powerless stealth segments.
The biggest Con is fewer Suoer Villain bosses

Main story is around 8 hours long but with side missions and challenges its probably around 16 hours worth of content, that's not bad

I was afraid of this. It's glorified dlc. Here in Australia the game costs $80. That's the standard price for most new release titles. That's way too much for the amount of content. Considering the main story of the first game took around 20 hours to complete, give or take, 8 hours of story for $80 is bullshit. I'm going to wait until I can pick up a cheap copy second hand.

Thanks for the review. I am going to go back and play 2018 first since I never got past Kingpin lol. I primarily play on Xbox, so that's part of it. This generation however I have so many great titles on PS5 that it might shift my play focus.

I’ve just finished the game and I honestly enjoyed it despite it being a short game.
The main story was amazing and rememberable as for the side quests tbh they were pure fun.

This game is a solid 9/10 theres enough new in this game from the main character/moves and villains to the story. People are lame.. Game is legit. And sets up number 2 beautifully.

I just beat it and besides slight lag and enemy freezing twice it was beyond good. Also on ps4 pro I'm not a gaming expert but you could fooled me about it being ps5! The game length was fine btw
While I agree with you on the side quest app. Assassin's Creed Origins and beyond had a similar event/mission hub in the pause menu that effectively offered the same thing.

Meh - I need a break from Spiderman. I loved the main game but im not ready for more DLC and thats really what this is. I have zero attachment to Mile Morales, so unless it told some amazing story or did something groundbreaking, its just a chance to have a solid exclusive for the PS5 launch. I totally get it, and ill play it eventually. Ill just wait and get it for $20.
Thats the other problem i have with this game. Its more expensive than it should be. This new Sony model for increased pricing really discourages me from buying anything but the absolute MUST haves, on day one. Ill probably will end up spending the same amount of money on games as i did when they were cheaper, ill just be waiting for titles like this to go on sale.
Sony is going to need to do much better to compete with Microsoft. 3 months of Game Pass or a short-ish Spiderman DLC? This game should have been like 30 bucks at most. $50 is too much. Why wouldnt you pay 10 bucks more and get Assassins Creed Valhalla....or even Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War?
I give my XBox focused friends crap because they get 1 exclusive a year and its Crackdown 3, but if they ever turn the corner with all these studios theyve bought, Sony is going to be in trouble.

Its a reskin of the first game.
Im not really bothered by that fact since the setup was already close to perfection in the first one there was not much to improve.
They obviously tried to make the activities little different but much of it is directly copied from the first one.
Since the first was amazing in my books i had no problem paying the full prize from this but i understand why some people dont want to pay that for this since alot of the content is indeed reused.

The whole world in miles morales is the exact same as spiderman ps4 only cosmetically different. And considering how short it was in comparison it felt even more like a dlc disguised as a full game.

I just finished the game and it was a blast! But one of the main characters was clearly supposed to be likeable but is just so unlikeable that another character with maybe 10 non spoken lines in the entire game is WAY more likable. The story is good but falls a bit at a few points because of this unlikeable character. Still a great game 8/10
I honestly am not impressed with the game i mean we got what like 20 bosses in the last game but in this game we only have four anf the two of the four being rhino i was really hoping for Kraven, mystreo, lizard, and Venom even the post credit scene used to tease him wasn't that good I just think this game was way too hyped up I am guessing in a few months this game will be forgotten.

The first Spider-Man game had loads of bosses because it’s Peter- Parker’s Spider-Man who is known for having loads of enemies like that. The miles morales story isn’t supposed to have as many bosses because every time we are in a boss fight it’s supposed to feel important and meaningful which the first Spider-Man game didn’t do for the reason that the bosses weren’t necessarily supposed to be meaningful but more like exciting action which the Peter Parker Spider-Man is more known for. Sure their could’ve been mroe bosses but u can’t expect there to be all of those enemies because that would just be repetitive and wouldn’t work with how the miles morales story was created.

Don’t trust what a reviewer says for how long they play they rush so they can make a review on always add on a few more hours onto what he says I personally add on atleast 6 hours into what a reviewer says it takes to beat a game

@@cheese4434 Regardless, it shouldnt have been 50$ USD. It's way too overpriced for a game that's essentially the same as its predecessor. A few new "animations" in swinging and combat really doesnt make a big difference.
Also dont get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad, rather it shouldnt have been stand alone game but a DLC.

This game is actually supposed to be a DLC according to a lot of insiders, but due to PS5 small launch lineup. They needed more games.
I would love to get this game but £50 for 20hours of entertainment just turns me off, especially because Cyberpunk is coming out (maybe next month we'll see) for the same price with 5x the play time.
20 hours is really good and then switch to a multiplayer game .

The game was advertised by Insomniac as "stand alone dlc." Nothing wrong with the delivery.
Well what did you expect? Is New York City. How would you make new stuff in a city that already exist
So, new activities? More mechanics? New random events on the street? If the game had waited for 2 years they would make a different game with the same city. This is like a DLCs, not a new game. Really the same, better and shorter

From the wealth of gameplay footage, cutscene footage, written reviews and video reviews I've followed, I would be genuinely shocked if anything in this game can be graded as "terrible."
(Maybe if there's a splash screen that reads, _Directed by Zack Snyder_ followed by Spider-Man running into a high school with an AR-15, then, okay, you'd have a point.)

Games to get, Valhalla never ending journey, godfall loot shooting, demon souls a hard to beat and challenging, cod Cold War multiplayer and next month you have fenix immortel with cyberpunk a endless journey keeps you busy for months.

So Demon souls is a remake and Mykes is a retread? Both ps5 and series x brought nothing day one honestly but December should be fun. Like the animation at the end of the review!
CyberPunk, Valhalla & COD - those are the new games. I got an XSX yesterday, switched from PS4 launch system, with GamePass holy shit there's a lot to play, the optimized Gears 5 is AMAZING.
