Later, SUGA would quote lyrics from “Spring Day” in “Dear My Friend” (Feat. Kim Jong-wan of NELL)dd, part of his May 2020 mixtape D- 2, implying that the two songs were about the same friend. According to him, the friend was “a friend [he] held very dear.” But a number of things happened between them, and they drifted apart and could not meet again. At one point, when the longing got to be too much, he even reached out to acquaintances to reconnect with the friend. Unfortunately, there would be no reunion.

I could lean on ... When I was a trainee, we’d talk together, “Hey you think I can really debut?” and break into sobs, and then make resolutions together like, “Let’s conquer the whole world!” But now I wonder how that friend is doing ... That’s why I resented them.
SUGA had suffered a great deal before “Spring Day,” but that suffering was what had gotten him so far. Unfortunately, his old friend was no longer at his side. For him, “Spring Day” was a way of coming to terms with emotions that continued to burn inside his heart after all those years. The resulting track became a source of comfort to him.

I have never seen so much emotion pour out at a concert in my life. Yoongi's heart is in front of us.

Wasn't it his last concert? Of course, he would be filled with emotion. He put his heart and soul into this concert. I've never seen any solo performer so connected to his audience. And he lived his lyrics. I do love him. He started crying even before he started singing the song. Did you see his chin quiver? He was really crying. But also rejoicing at coming so far in his life. Facing his demons bravely. He survived it all. Then reclaimed his life with this concert. I have watched many videos of this concert at different locations. I was amazed how smooth he was. How connected he was to each varied audience. How calm he was. How fun he was. Then I found out one of the reasons he was so good. He told JK on his TV show "Suchwita" that he practiced 20 times before he went on the road. 20 times he rehearsed his full concert to get it perfect. And he did. Nothing upset him. His string breaking on his guitar. He handled it so well. He didn't panic. I know Suga has embraced his perfectly imperfect life with all the ups and downs. He ended his concert in a Very Good place. Bravo. Applause. Standing ovation.

Whomever that friend was he visited in prison...Suga loved him with all his heart and soul. The lyrics of the song tell most of the story. But I don't know any details. Do any of you know what happened. Was his friend on drugs??? Anyway. Whew. Hugs for Suga as he relived every emotion in that song. Could someone send Suga a trophy for The Best Real Emotion Concert Ever! He deserves it. He lived his Truth in front of every Army at everyvm concert. Oh, to live a life of Truth like Suga!
This performance just broke me... I couldn´t stop my tears.
He has never opened up like this before and we have never witnessed him so openly vulnerable in a concert setting before. I can´t think of another artist being able to bare his/ her soul like Yoongi did today. It was a rare, magical occasion and I will treasure it forever.
To see him letting go of old pain, and letting his most private inner emotions flow out like that, without shame, without restrain, or hiding it, in front of thousands upon thousands to witness it, was ballsy AF and awe inspiring. I have always known that my ultimate bias of 5 years is an honest, authentic, courageous man and a musician but what he did today had me shook to the very core of me, in a positive way.
I am glad he trusted us and I am glad his emotional body is healing. My hero and infinite inspiration.

He’s been my bias too ever since 2015 when I discovered them. I remember being worried for him because he seemed down and closed up. But he has opened up slowely a little bit more and now he’s 100% showing every emotion for us, happy, goofy or sad. I’m relieved. Our sweet genuine Yoongi🥹

This is so heartbreaking. I hope his friend/ex friend sought help. Yoongi's emotions and trauma are so clear in the lyrics and performance, he feels a lot guilt over not helping his friend at the time. I sincerely hope that peace finds its way inside each their hearts 💜😭😩

@SUGAOFBTS1 I found BTS (or BTS found me), in a video, on TH-cam, singing Mikrokosmos. I stopped at that video... and those words. I needed to hear that that day. So I went looking for who they were and discovered that they were here and had recently left. I didn't know what it was like to miss things I didn't experience... but I miss not having experienced that spectacle in 2019. I'm missing a piece. I'm very grateful that BTS is part of me... really! 💜🇧🇷

Had too watch SUGA Performance again in day’s waiting for his reunion. This is who he is a man ,with thought’s,always bringing it in his writings and of course his music. His honesty in all that he dose is healing not just for him, but for many others. What you see is what we get. A man who has learned that life dose go on, and it can be wonderful,when letting go! Have respect and admiration for this good man who has filled my days with all my admiration as I follow his journey. Seeing my life idol cry like that... like, I've seen him cry a few times compared to the other members, but I didn't feel that sad, but I still felt a little sad. But, seeing him crying in the middle of 2023, in the present, after having spent 10 with his brothers, I was very sad and almost cried. You can see that while he sang Snooze and Dear my Friend, several memories of the past and the current situation were going through his head. Which is happy and sad at the same time. We feel happy that they are having more freedom, but at the same time we are sad to see that, these guys who lived together for more than 10 years, are little by little going to enlist in the army, and that in the next 2 years, we won't see them together on a stage having fun, or seeing interactions of the love and affection they have for each other. Yoongi's eyes say it all.

Nunca chorei tanto ouvindo alguém cantar, o Yoongi já passou por tempos bem difíceis e vê-lo compartilhando dessas emoções me deixa emocionada e aliviada, porque de certa forma, cantar essa musica hoje, tem muito significado pra ele, cantando num show pra milhares de pessoas, vendo seus amigos de grupo o apoiando durante o show também, os armys, enfim, todos que o amam incondicionalmente estavam lá e sempre estaremos.
