In this pivotal scene where Light, Ryuk, and Rem are seen dropping notebooks in the woods, there's a significant strategic move at play that some might miss. Light's decision to switch the Death Notes between Ryuk and Rem isn't random; it's a calculated step in his larger plan. By aligning himself with Rem instead of Ryuk, Light is leveraging the fact that Rem cares deeply for Misa. This is crucial because Rem's emotional attachment to Misa can be exploited by Light to further his goals. Unlike Ryuk, who is largely indifferent and observes events for his own amusement, Rem's protective instincts over Misa can be manipulated. Light, always the strategist, understands that having Rem as his Shinigami gives him an advantage, as Rem might be compelled to act in ways that benefit Light's plans, especially if Misa's safety is involved. This scene is a testament to Light's cunning and his ability to manipulate not just humans but also Shinigamis to achieve his ultimate goal of creating a new world under his idealistic, yet twisted, vision of justice.
@@ChiccaEnterprises you hate illogical endings, but would be ok with Light "winning" at episode 25? L literally told the task force about testing the rule. The most illogical thing in this show is that the task force is against testing it on a convicted death row person, since japan had death penalty. Those same guys quickly put 2+2 together about what a fake rule would meant when Near told them, but 6 years before they couldn't when L suggested it? A fitting end would have been L dying, but secretly having tested the notebook, therefore solving the case. Nobody would have won, but Ryuk. Also, does it make sense for L to just sit in the helicopter in the previous episode starring at nothing, saying nothing, while his prime suspect holds the murder magical weapon? The same prime suspect that he theorized would somehow gain his powers and memories back? The same character we saw beign on top of every detail absurdly quickly. I'm supposed to believe it's logical for him to not snatch that note from Light to take a better look at it? "No mind me, Light, you are the protagonist, do what you must for the plot, I'll just wait here"
Hey guys, so I honestly recommend that you guys watch Deathnote relight 2. It takes the rest of the series (25-37) and condense it to a movie. It makes the 2nd half more bearable and actually explains things
The biggest problem with the second half of the series isn't that it takes too long and needs to be condensed, it's that they condensed what was probably 20 episodes worth of material from the Manga into 12 episodes of the show. I still think it mostly does a good job, but condensing the 12 episodes into a movie seems like it would be a huge mess. That being said, I'd love to check out this movie. Can you point me to where I can find it? Thanks!
Funny how Asians and others that do the bare minimum reading of bible and christianity out of meme and pop culture requirements DO get the washing of Jesus feet reference, meanwhile nearly ALL true blooded star spangled Americans miss this reference and either categorize it as gae or weird anime behavior. How do I, who spit all religions in the face, know more about your symbolisms by drunk reading synopsis of your bible, than you people?! xDDDD
Damn that would've been a fun insight if not for that last paragraph showing your bolstering pompousness. I'd say you must be fun at parties, but I doubt you get into any.

7:22 Is a reference to Jesus cleaning Judas feet, knowing that he will betray him
*I was about to point that part out.*
7:22 references Judas betraying Jesus
And that's the end of the show. Light won. Congrats on making it all the way through😋
Grow up.

Since the anime will not state it for the reminder of it, L's real name was L Lawliet, as indicated in the manga's final volume.
I have the card that came with vol 13 in a frame in near perfect condition. Its one of my "don't fuck this up" collectibles
One of the most iconic deaths in anime
9:03 this is what we all came here to see
Loved that Light is a mastermind!! People should get tired of watching anything where the "good guys" always wins.
It's the reason I hated the end... very illogical yet politically correct ending to the greatest villain arc of all time
