- Could Condor's new A330-900Neo fleet set it above Lufthansa's Business Class? TheDesignAir takes Condor's new Business Class 'Prime Seat' proposition for a spin to see if the extra space, better amenities and affordable price tag make for a winning combination.
Condor is gradually rolling out this product to replace its ageing 767 fleet, and the end result is a quantum leap in passenger experience. It could just be that Condor has the secret sauce to be a hidden gem in the European long-haul business class market.

Which I assume won't happen as LH and Condor currently don't get along really well to phrase it that way. To sum that up (a bit more dramatic than it actually is): Condor gets competition from the LH subsidiary Discover Airlines and uses every legal "loophole" to launch lawsuits and make life a living hell for the Discover Airlines legal team :D
Wow...loved this video. You mentioned that your expectations were exceeded by Condor...so were mine...even as a viewer rather than a traveler. The Business Class cabin was as visually impressive as any I have seen and I was quite pleased to see what a statement was made by the striped theme. The service from the flight attendants and certainly the dining options were also something to be complimented. This is definitely not the Condor I remember when my former partner used to fly them from Germany to the United States years ago. Great job as usual, my friend. You've set the bar pretty high.

We will take that this fall to Frankfurt and back. Now a hoodie! I love it. I'm still using my Condor cup, my #1 amenity kit. I'm so tired of these Signature Amenity leather bags.
The most important thing, I got along with the crew on both flights in 2021. One female crew gave me a hug while we were waiting for our bags at Seattle airport. She told me to fly again Condor. For sure we will this year in their Neo A330-900.

I flew business class two weeks ago, PDX to FRA, in seat 6K, which is NOT a prime seat. We got no pajamas or snack basket, so they must be prime-seat perks. I liked the seat a lot - pretty comfy. You mentioned that the "footwell" can feel cramped on many airlines but it felt roomy to me. The one thing I didn't like about the seat was there was ZERO storage - nothing at your feet and nothing on the shelf is allowed during takeoff and landing. The FA came along and put my man-purse in the overhead, which really annoyed me. Also I found the meal service to be really rushed, but maybe the FAs don't know what they are doing yet. Thanks for the review.
You have to book the Prime seat extra with an additional cost of 200 EUR.

Yes, the prime seat centre pair are row 1. There are also 2A and 2K which are prime seats, but solo.

It’s truly as comfortable as he says and the staff are unbeatable. I’ll be flying with them more often. Only criticism is the FRA check in that also gave incorrect information for a connecting flight. Almost missed it.

Very good review of a reat product..I really did like the wine list:) Yet, Condor lets you really pay now for this product, often more than the competition. Apropos: did you fully fund yourself this trip? You obviously enjoyed special treatment, being escorted by the station manager to the aircraft.
We were greeted but the service we got was the usual service and didn’t compare to the way any other passengers were onboard

@@thedesignairvideo the new business class seats were great. I sat across from my wife, whom had the prime seat in the front by the window and her set up was tremendous. What was a real surprise was the catering. 4 courses all plated separately without a tray, and very elevated offerings. We most typically fly BA between the continents, and this experience was much better than Club World.

I wish I could transfer my Lufthansa miles to Condor. Flew business last summer with them to the States from Frankfurt and it was great.

It’s quite a varied menu and it also differs route to route but hey, who doesn’t like Italian or fish! 😜
Outstanding review. I would have avoided Condor. We’ll be flying Lufthansa back from Europe this September, for a second time. Wish we could take Condor
AVOID IT !! the BUSINESS CLASS SUCKS !!! no meal on my 11 hour flight from San Francisco to Frankfurt, only a snack tray in the beginning.. plus they moved my seat.. completely disappointed.
Are the pajamas for just the larger seats at the front of the business class cabin?
They are one of the benefits for those in prime seats only (the front row)

Are the food and drinks at the Lounges complimentary ??
They are! Usually most lounges offer everything complimentary and some offer a few top shelf items for a tiny surcharge but those spaces are usually in the US and few and far between
@thedesignairvideo awesome, thanks.. going to Poland in a couple weeks, I got a 4hr layover in SF and an 8hr layover in Frankfurt.. I hope the SF lounge is as nice as the one shown.

Great Job! My wife and I are looking to travel to the Maldives from Seattle next year with Miles from Alaska airlines, we have been trying to book flights with Qatar with no success getting business class, now looking to book using Condor business class, is there two types of business class on Condor's A330-900 Neo ?
There is just one cabin layout but two seating types, the front row is the “prime seat” with slightly more space and amenities but it’s all business class at the front.
We just booked our trip through Alaska airlines miles plan on this plane for a total cost of 130k miles, Business for two people Seattle/Frankfurt/Male , we called Condor to upgrade to the prime seats and was told that the cost would be $360 us per person per flight for a total cost $ 1,440 ......We will just have to rough it in regular Business class. Thank you again for your great review , we were not even looking at Condor until we saw your video !@@thedesignairvideo
One note, we are flying to LAX to start with , this flight was included in the total miles cost of 65k per person.
I liked so many aspects of the aircraft. The lighting looked so good on the cabin tour, the food looked good too, and I liked the striking black and white theme. Of course, it's an Airbus, which adds to the feeling of safety.
How do prices compare with Lufthansa?
Prices are often cheaper but not always. Certainly worth it if the price is comparable!
It's cheaper almost $1,500 US to FRA RT. Different days have different prices. It also depends which city in the US you're flying from. I don't think I will pay $8,000 to $12,000 for BC nowadays. Outrageous. Condor is also very good.
i saw that in the video I use Lufthansa lounge, if I have a business condor ticket can I go?
I do like the darker accents (wood and seat color).. looks richer and I think it will last longer. or look richer longer.. up close the plane actually looks sharp with livery, but I don't know from a far I don't think it screams luxury; it doesn't look shiny like it does up close. A dark blue stripe on the outside would have been nice.
Condor has the better version of the Spirit airlines livery. It’s so weird and different, it stands out like you wouldn’t believe. However, it’s very recognizable and you cannot mistake it.
I think this is the first time I've seen spirit and condor in the same sentence, but for sure, it's an eye-catching livery! That's why it won best new livery last year at our awards!
I know I`m a bit late to the party, but Condor`s flight to Malè is (as far as I know) the only non stop flight from Germany to the Maldives. Eurowings Discover (which isn't Eurowings anymore just Discover) stopped their route from Frankfurt to Malè.
is condor really a competitor to lufthansa? They used to be essentially part of the lufthansa group. They still are sort of.

I liked this video overall.. my one gripe is that I found your voice over a little quiet , so I turned up the volume on my iPhone , only for the loud parts of the backing music to ‘blast out’ way more than I felt comfortable with.. the music was all tasteful though imho.. thanks for your work…’I Will Subscribe’ 😅😅😅

the question here is were they extra nice to you because they knew you were filming or were they nice in general?
This crew didn't know i was filming specifically for them, in fact i always make it a general rule to see how they treat all customers and balance my feedback based on that.
" a little more" for a prime seats means 1.000 € per flight. that´s not "a little more" to me!

@@moldypizza__given the only reason LH hasn’t launched their new business and first class products yet is because the 777-9 has been delayed for 5 years, I think that’s a little unfair. We would have seen Lufthansa’s new business class about 3 years ago if Boeing was a little more competent.
