I love how you are doing one video as a tutorial and a separate video as a play along !!! Fantastic idea !!!

I have been playing the ukulele since the beginning of June and playing with you for about 3 weeks. I was amazed tonight that I could actually play most of "country roads" with you and actually keep the tempo with the strumming. Thank you so much for all your lessons. Thank you for being here for us through this pandemic. Watching you and learning from you gives me something constructive to do through this terrible time. I had always wanted to play a musical instrument and now at age 73, I am. Thank you again.

Kevin, I just today discovered AllForUke. Thank you, it seems great for the novice like me, who clumsily knows the Em, and wants to learn simple strum patterns, and novice songs. Good hints on fingering alternatives for chords. The site looks very professional with the turquoise bar of chords and lyrics. And I love that there is a separate play along video.
One SUGGESTION for us non-musical uke players. If you could add a tiny notation how many times to play the chord pattern before each chord change, as you do where you don't have the lyrics. This timing is still hard for this musically challenged novice. Thanks!

You are the easiest to follow instructor. Others go too fast or leave important parts out-- like the strumming pattern. Still have a ways to go, but I' m getting there, happily. I followed the whole lesson and just need to perfect things. . Thanks again Kevin.:-)

AllForUke thanks Kevin. My biggest problem is managing a natural strum with my 1st finger. I naturally gravitate to my thumb and I know this will restrict me as I improve to harder strum patterns. Do other people have this issue too?

Best thing about lockdown was when my daughter taught me a few uke basics, I'd never played any instrument in my life and now I've nearly got a couple tunes. Thanks Kevin, your slow steady tutorials are the best on TH-cam. Can't wait to go camping, sit by the fire and smash out some John Denver. Oh yeah.

In your next videos it would be very Helpful for me to know how many beats per chord before you play the next. Especially if they are not all give the same throughout the song.
P.S. you are a great teacher and explain things so the novice can follow. Thank you

I have watched your fretting hand closely and I cannot match the chord shape to what you are doing e.g the c chord you are playing should have the annular finger only on 3rd fret of the a string but you appear to have you index and middle fingers also fretting. The same appears to be the case with the other chords as I can't match your fingering to the chord diagrams. Could you please explain this.

Such a classic!!! Thank you for sharing your talent! I added this video and your longer more detailed one to my blog for people to learn Guitar, Ukulele, Piano, & ASL from music videos like this. I'm trying to add an ASL version to every song I add, but sometimes I have a hard time finding an ASL version per song. Hopefully that helps connect more people to you. Thank you again for making this world a beautiful place!
