Another way to do this is to get 2 old planners every year for the next 7 years fix one however you want then in 7 years you can just use the first one and each month will match perfectly. This requires more planning and organization, but it can save you so much money. I used to go to Goodwill and find planners for less than a $1. I still buy old planners when they are really cute then I just check my planner box before the beginning of the year to see if I already have a planner that matches the upcoming year.
I just bought a 22-23 planner for $4 on Amazon and a $10 pack of stickers with the months, days of the week, date dots, and some functional boxes, flags, and icons. I chose this route because I was gonna get an undated or current dated planner & use the stickers anyways. All of the vertical layout planners I liked were $20-$50 so I was able to get the planner layout I wanted for a greatly reduced price! I also bought a 40 roll pack of multicolor washi for $7 and 48 roll pack of skinny washi for $4 on Temu to use in the planner as well...which I was gonna buy anyways to decorate but now they'll also help cover up the dates on the tops of pages so i dont have to use as much white out.
I’m new to planners and I’m old. LOL I really love your instructions and your ideas! It goes a little fast for me and it’s kind of hard for me to keep up though. 😅😮 I was just looking for instructions for putting my starter planner pages on extension discs! 😂I’m subscribing!
I prefer and actually do the second method. However last weekend I hit jackpot at Joann’s clearance section and found classic size UNDATED planners for like $12! I got two! 🤣
Love the video. I miss the old create 365 / happy planner colors, themes & quality. 😔 I bought old planners earlier this year to re-date for 2023 & this video was right on time. Thanks for the tips
If you kinda combined your two methods it could be less work. Leave the dividers in order but then match the days of the weekly pages to the dates of the new year. Then you'd just have to redate the monthly pages and only a few months of the weekly pages. The monthly tabs would still be in order then. 😊
I actually found it easier to get my entire year with an 18 month planner that was on clearance for like 8 dollars. I loved some of the stickers they had on line got those on sale as well. Thank you so much for these tips and tricks they have really made a huge difference with my planning and refurbishing this year. ❤
That is definitely the easiest and cheapest way! This is for those that maybe bought too many or had someone give them one when they already had one. And don't want to waste it. Or maybe they like one of the old ones best.
I ALWAYS pick up a red dates and holidays book when I order during a sale. I always use them, since I redate a lot of planners for myself and for friends. I reeeealllyyy wanna meet you at GW! I love redating and my mom asks me all the time to do it for her since it is tough on her eyes, and I have been doing the thing in my frankenplanner like you where you keep all the monthlies in and store the weeklies. So many videos I find myself saying “Me too!” When you said P&P ‘95 I about died. 😂😂😂 My favorite!
@@pnutdolly absolutely the first 9 are the first way you showed with additional tabs, and the last three changing the dates…….Less work all around! Unless changing the dates get you quiet time lol
Because HP decided to go more natural and turn everything into Disney and Florals, I pretty much use EC now. Plus they have Hello Kitty!!! ❤️ But I must admit I did see the new monthly planners on Amazon and wanted one in a mini, so I repurposed an old mini planner and threw away the weeks, and added mini happy notes paper. Working real well so far. I’m with you. I refer method #2. Thx for the upload.
In the future, you can use the days from the months that coincide and just keep the first page of the calendar month. That way you only have to redate one side of the calendar and not all the days.
Don't get me wrong I loved the old happy planner style but now that it all neutral I feel like I'm more open to branching out my style and color palette but when it was the old one I felt like I had to use the color scheme they had in the planner for monthly and weekly use to have a color to it
I agree! People suggest this method on Facebook, so I wanted to put it ot there as a possibility. But having the dividers out of order would drive me bonkers! 😁
So sad that all the artwork & details that HP apart is no longer. Bye bye glam girl, rainbow, detailed dash boards. Now it Disney or bland & boring. Bye bye HP.
I agree. I now only buy their planners on super clearance because they lost what made them awesome and different & I can’t spend that kind of money on something that’s really just blah
You have my utmost respect. You are a very patient women. Re dating a planner and those out of order tabs would drive me crazy.
Right!? I definitely can't do out of order tabs. 🤣
I miss all the colors from The Happy Planner! Thank you for sharing this!
Right!? They were so fun!

Ooh that's a good idea! I think the oldest ones I have are 2017. Those should be good in a couple years.

Smart. And such great deals!
I absolutely agree with you. How beautiful and creative were the old planners? Hope HP will bring them back :)
Right!? At least have a few that are bright and colorful with design throughout!

I really would like to see more color in the Happy Planners, too.

Oh my gosh! I need that planner!!!❤
I miss this line! So cute!

I like to re-date the month as well. It gives me something to do while listening to podcasts.
Exactly. Get comfy and settle in. 😁

Thank you for sharing. I read the comments and would love it if you did another video incorporating the ideas from your subscribers.
I definitely will! The next time I have an old planner to re-date. I'm so excited about these good ideas! Stay tuned!
Old happy planners were... happy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Since I don't decorate my planners, I would prefer to have the old decorated already style
Right!? I miss all the happy!
That's amazing 😅
Thanks!
This is really smart for planners you love.
Yes! We get to enjoy them all over again.
They could even cut the tabs and add their own the first way!
That's true! That might solve my problem. Maybe I need to film a third way, which is a combination of the 2.

Yeah, if you don't like Disney or florals you're out of options. It's too bad. Are you liking your EC?
@@pnutdolly LOVE my EC. I just don’t feel the pressure for all these stickers and to make it perfect. It’s a nice clean format. A5 monthly.

I can see that. I was using a lot of correction tape. 😁
I would just cover dates and redate with stickers.
That's what I go for, too.
oh man, why did they stop doing that layout?
Do you mean why I didn't finish redating it? Just to finish the video first.
@@pnutdolly no no happy planner. I wonder why they stopped doing that layout. I love it.
Take an hour, redate all the pages. The first method is stupid, too much work, and the dividers won't even match up nicely.
