Richard is right: stand up & give it gas when it gets squirrely. Only thing I would ad, as a former expert MX racer for years, is lean back. Stand & lean back when descending stuff like that.

Chris, you did great on that sandy hill. Just channel your dirt-bike riding self. Your BMW is well-suited for that kind of road. Besides, if Rich can get through with Miss Alice loaded down then you should be fine. I love watching how supportive you are of each other. I think it’s fantastic that you two had your careers and raised your kids, and now you’re enjoying doing things you both like doing, and doing it together. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!

Watching you guys pack up reminds me of when my wife and I used to tent camp and each of us had specifictasks that we both knew what we had to do and we moved like an orchestrated melody. Now we have a 5th wheel toy hauler, and the tasks are totally different
!PS: you guys eat better on the road, then I do at home!!! 🤣

Regarding the ice. I suggested KEEPING the ice in the bag it came with . THEN you have uncontaminated water available for any purpose later. It will keep to being sealed. Great vids guys, 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻

Have you thought about a 12v shower pump. Use a folding bucket (space-saving)of warm water. We're still in lockdown in the UK. We go up to Scotland and wild camp using this system, it works well for us. I love your beautiful country, and now get to see because of you lovely folks.

You took the camper down really fast. So much energy. Yes, zinc makes you look haggard. But not as in Merle Haggard. In that intense sun, you really do need it. I love that area and have ridden it many times. I hope you made it out to Dead Horse Point state park. Great views. I’ll be out there again in about 3 weeks. Enjoy your rides. You make camping on bikes look deceptively easy. Having done it, I know it’s not.

There is so much to see. My cousin and I were there just a couple of weeks ago. Took a 6 day ride. Only stayed there for 2 days. And there is so much to see and we rode 200mi sightseeing and still didn't see everything. And we didn't ride any of the parks. Line was always too long for the arches national park. We didn't want to waste our limited time waiting in line. Bikes would heat up. We're going back and taking more time so we can ride the parks. But there's just so much too see outside the parks. Totally recommend the Hole in the Rock. Cute sight, amazing style of living. Enjoy the beautiful sights.

A few years ago my youngest son and I took KLR 650 and rode from Denver down to Moab. We road through canyon land. I to hate sand but finally got it sorta figured out. We did a lot of dirt roads and trails. Fun memories. At that time I was 60 and I kept telling my son, hey I am 60 years old and he would say, Oh Dad 60 is just a number, to which I would say, yes a very big number. I just want to let you know that I am keeping you in our prayers for safety. Cool that you scored such a nice camp site at the Colorado River.

We were just there last month (4/26-5/4) Sadly NOT on the bike. But MAN y'all are headed for some BEAUTIFUL Country!! Utah/Colorado is DEFINITELY on our riding bucket-list!! If y'all head North out of Moab, be sure to stop through Helper, UT. The town is a Nostalgia themed one, seemingly "stuck" in the 50's. There is also a VERY cool motorcycle museum called Vintage MC that is located in the old "City Garage". Absolutely MUST STOP destination. The whole town is very cool!!

I notice your windshields sometimes look hazy. A trick I learned many years ago and use today to clean and protect my plastic windshield while at home and on long trips. I use Johnson lemon pledge furniture spray on my windshield. You have to use this brand or one that has the same ingredients. No alcohol! Obviously, this is only for light dust and smudges, soap and water otherwise. I also now use just use microfibre towels face cloth size. Spray a corner of the towel and wipe your plastic with the rest of the towel. Obviously, this is good for anything plastic and much more. This leaves a protective coat on your windshield and makes bug removal easier. The nice thing about it is you can usually find this spray almost anywhere.

My home town, always in my heart and soul. I guided on the Colorado out of Moab and also did 4 x 4 tours. You'll love being there I hope. Enjoy my friends! I'm taking care of a Hip Camp if you make it North to Provo. Sincerely The Trippy Old Hippie

If you two want an awesome dinner I recommend the Sunset Grill it's great food and one awesome view! Used to be owned by friends of mine, not sure if they still own it. But the food is great still. I highly recommend Dead Horse Point for a early ride or sunset ride.

If you’re going to Arches please arrive early at least before 9:00 am or late afternoon, the park will get full and the rangers will turn you around and ask you to come back at another time after sitting in line to get in. Dead horse park is really nice but Canyon lands is really good for hiking.

Get yourself a small battery powered camera with an sd card, place it hidden pointing at your campsite and just in case something did happen, you might have some footage of it.

So I had to chuckle when Chris said "only one bad word" in reference to her ride down the sandy dirt road. I guess that's why they invented Full Face Masks! Stunning video. Wish we (my Wife and I) could be there. Thanks for sharing.

Funny enough I have two bikes. An 1150 GS and a Fatbob and because the Harley is that much lower to the ground I find it easier to ride in the sand!! Sounds daft I know!! Love your videos take care and enjoy... Come ride in Africa sometime..

If its hot go up to the LaSalle Mtns. 80 in Moab it will be 60 up there. Just as you cross the National Park sign there is a campsite to the left that is spectacular. Looks down over Moab

Zip tie lock, eh? Looks like something I'd do. That's the first time I remember Chris sounding afraid when she was going downhill on the sand. Made my heart sympathize with her. Good editing on the 360° clips.

Yes, still getting used to the capabilities of the bike (or actually rider). Need more travel time on the dirt.
