  • Regulator Rectifiers - Field Coil vs Permanent Magnet and How To Choose The Correct One for your vintage motorcycle. This video is an overview of the two digital regulator rectifiers that are offered on the NWT Cycletronic website. DRR-S and DRR-F which are universal fit kits that are fully compatible with traditional Lead-Acid, AGM, and Lithium batteries. This video shows you what to look for in determining which unit is correct for your bike.
    You can find these regulator/rectifiers on the NWT Cycletronic website:

    You are a life saver dude. I own the xs360 and havent been able to get my Rick’s reg/ rec to charge properly. Ive been told it had the field coil setup for the longest time. Going to get the correct one now!

    Hi taylor do rec/reg work from the old point system on cb750/4?

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, my name is Bj actually. The DRR-F is the reg/rec you would need for a 750/4 to modernize your charging system. The ignition side does not matter.

    What is the sensing wire for? I have a Yamaha xs750 with a filled coil.

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The sensing wire is sensing power consumption/input so it can tell the regulator how much to charge or "shunt"/disperse charge

    Do I need DRR one to use X21?, can I still use the original from my bike ?

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope X21 is fine with any reg/rec or battery

    Hello, I just got a kz400 kawasaki from 1977 engine, it should be almost the same as the engine you have, but I only got the engine and not the motorcycle and Im missing all the wiring. I did some research but only found a very small amount of information. I only have the field coil wiring. I just got the contact breaker and the ignition coil but I dont know what else I will need just to run the engine. So do you have any idea what I will need just to run it and see if it works electronic wise?

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To run the engine you just need power to the points. To charge the battery you would need to wire the stator to a voltage regulator/rectifier to control power output

      You would need the DRR-F like shown here
