Great example of why it's important to keep going. It turned out fab in the end, and the little meerkat has so much character

it was fun watching this picture come together. I enjoy using my derwent drawing pencils in combo with derwent lightfast and polychromos , but haven't tried that kind of paper. Four years into my "adventure" with colored pencils, i still haven't mastered blending, oms, colorless pencils, cotton buds, and burnishing all end up streaky looking to me, so i've learned to love the texture of the little white bits of paper showing through.

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes I find that there is always still more to learn and improve at. There really is no end point in learning and developing with art.

Great demonstration, as a nature lover, you really made the technique of drawing crystal clear. Many thanks, Clair

🤣 Thank you! As much as I've always loved them I've always found domestic cats very tricky to draw.

I love this video because I bought this paper a long time ago on a whim but I didn't know how to approach using it! Love your drawing style - thank you for sharing.

It is a really nice paper, I find with harder pencils of your boot careful you can damage the paper if you overwork it, but it holds up to a lot and takes colour well.

Enjoyed the tips on the backround, it was interesting to see your process in correcting it.
    Well done! ❤

Really nice. I think it would look a little bit better if you darkened the shadows.

You're right! I had the same thought myself after I put the video together. I hadn't stepped away from it long enough to see that before then. Good feedback :)

So cute 😍Have you ever used odorless paint thinner like zest it for colored pencils? It helps to blend the colored pencils even smoother, especially for backgrounds

Thank you so much. No I haven't used thinners. I do enjoy the look that they can achieve but I'm not keen on using them due to the nature of them (even the odourless ones have fumes that aren't good for you and I'm already prone to headaches).
