Bought a 1974 Saab 99 WagonBack (very rare) in Sunset Orange from a guy in Maine. Needs some work but it's going to look great when it's all set and done. I owned a two-door back in the late 80s. Loved that car.
My father had a 1980 chocolate brown 99 GL saloon like this one- it’s the car that sparked my SAAB obsession! What a beautiful example and such amazing build quality!
The model is actually a SAAB 99LE, colour is Sepia Brown Metallic with Lion Yellow seats, model year of build is 1974, hence chassis number 9974**********
99 Combe Coupe was my first ever car..same interior…under the bonnet view bought back some memories too..brilliant car …solid as a rock, they used quality steel and it shows. If I had a garage to put that in I’d probably try and buy it lol
SAAB was the first serie car whit seat belts and heated seats and dust filter for the coupé wiper for the headlights and side protection inside doors etc also made to take elk crash better than other cars .
These Saab 99s are so frigging rare these days, let alone being in UK with the salty roads, its condition is amazing after 47 years. You say "you don't see many of these do you?"... quite frankly you don't see any in this condition. You should give a potted history of the car if you can to help with buyers - the bodywork/paint has clearly been restored whilst the interior looks original?
No. It's Saabs own engine, loosely based on the Triumph engine, but many changes that hugely improved reliability. A very strong engine with a similar style water pump to the Triumph engine and that is pretty much the only weak link with that engine.
Your closing the hood wrong. Hold the release lever under the hood or "bonnet" and then gently close the hood. You don't need someone to pull the lever when the lever is right where you were slamming the hood. Please 🥺

A lovely rare SAAB car.
Ah I had a 99GL in the late 80s fabulous car so well built
I have to agree on the colour. It looks stunning on that. I would love to own this
I'm in love with this, if it was a manual it would be even more perfect.
A lovely condition 99 with the triumph slant four engine and looks smart a great buy for someone
Not the Triumph engine in this one, Saab stopped using that and moved to their own design in 1972.
@@willmason3452 ah I see thanks for clarifying
@@danielrussell446 Well it's a slant 4 with little if anything interchangeable , still has the waterpump mounted in the block though...

Beautiful car, I hate the automatic though
in this the engine that was in the dolomite sprint ?

Love it
