Kubber was quite impressive. At first I was like “oh, this guy didn’t bring enough to the party” and then that little lightweight oddball spun up to about 40,000 RPM’s and shot off like a rocket. That little thing was quite capable, even making it looks easy at times.

There isn't a bounty hole that exists that these wouldn't fly across, keep that in mind when people are offering thousands if someone can get over them. It wouldn't even be a challenge because mud is a lot stiffer than water and these go over ponds with no issues. Just think of them as one of rc cars on steroids, that's where the rc cars got the idea from before they started blasting them across ponds. If I lived in the U.S. I'd build one just to eat bounty holes it's easy money, I'd call the truck Ha! Because that's what I'd be doing every time I drove it, laugh because they're pretty mental trucks.

There've been 4 owners of Musso/Choirboy/Thor. Haraldur Pétursson build it back in 1999 named it Musso, took him a few seasons to tweek it and figure out the best configurations for the vehicle and would win the Icelandic championship 3 times in a row (2002, 2003 & 2004) and 3 time Fia/Nez Champion (World Champion) (2000, 2002 & 2004). Jón Örn Ingileifsson bought it for the 2008 season renamed it Choirboy became Icelandic Champion in 2010 & Fia/Nez Champion in 2009. Than Snorri Þór Árnason bought it for the 2013 season and kept the name, became 4 time Icelandic Champion (2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) and Fia/Nez Champion in 2016. Þór Þormar Pálsson than bought it for the 2018 season coloured it red and renamed it Thor and the main sponsor is KFC, he is a 2 time Icelandic Champion 2018, 2019. This vehicle is basically the new "blueprint" in Icelandic Formula Offroad as it's been the winning vehicle of the Icelandic championship 10 times with 4 drivers. Hekla and Guttinn-Reborn are basically copies of Haraldur's original design.
Oh yea fun fact; Þór Þormar Pálsson actually won his first ever race in USA in 2017 driving the than newly aquired Thor. He's been competing since 1995 :-)
You should have seen it going in Iceland when the builder Snori had it, he made this lot look like amateurs. Have a look at some videos from a few years ago around 2015-16 you'll seen this truck being driven like a rally car on them hills and over the water.
I somewhat understand the rules but not 100%, I'll work on that for the next one. They get points for making it through each gate. So many points per tire actually.
There are 350 points for going full length. Than we have the penaltie points. -10 for stoping, -20 for touching a marker, -40 for driving over a marker, -40 for reversing, -80 if only one wheel goes through the gate. Penalties in final gate are halved. Black flagged if vehicle has been stationary for over a minute, reversing beyond last gate cleared and for driving out of the track. Time attacks 350 points for fastest time. -20 for touching/driving over a marker, no penalties for stoping and reversing other than the time lost doing so. -1 point for every 10th of a second slower than fastest time. Hope that helps :-)
Never rode in anything with BIG power and paddle tires. But it's insane to watch them. I can't believe how well they hook up and the more chopped up and soft it gets the better they do. Go from all but a dead stop, burp it and they are rolling 30mph again instantly.
Awesome event. Terrible camera angles. Near vertical hill climbs like they do need to be recorded from the bottom, not the top. The viewer loses all sense of perspective.

Big difference in the setup of the Formula off road trucks. Weights is kept low, mostly in the axles and drivetrain. not as much roll cage weight. These things also have straight up drag racing style motors. they achieve much greater wheel speed on demand. Even the turbocharged "Cube" is making extreme wheel speed for its weight. you'll also notice the wheel travel is stiffer on the shocks keeping better contact with the ground. It would be interesting to see these go up against a rock bouncer where you actually have rocks and roots involved?? Definitely be fun too watch!!!!
You are correct! My mind was in reverse. I should have thought about how I said that. I guess a better way to put it is that these guys have years of experience on setting up the shocks to keep better ground contact on these types of courses. They are light and low
Almost all of there frames are titanium they twist and they're strong

us rockbouncer run like 250hp and europen formula offroad is like 1000hp, you yankis have som to learn about making power in this cars

We hope they can come back over to the US and play again. Our buggies are engineered for abuse, I doubt F1 would transfer much over to us.

well they only come once a year to this place in Tennessee so that is about it.
Big difference in the setup of the Formula off road trucks. Weights is kept low, mostly in the axles and drivetrain. not as much roll cage weight. These things also have straight up drag racing style motors. they achieve much greater wheel speed on demand. Even the turbocharged "Cube" is making extreme wheel speed for its weight. you'll also notice the wheel travel is stiffer on the shocks keeping better contact with the ground. It would be interesting to see these go up against a rock bouncer where you actually have rocks and roots involved?? Definitely be fun too watch!!!!

You are correct! My mind was in reverse. I should have thought about how I said that. I guess a better way to put it is that these guys have years of experience on setting up the shocks to keep better ground contact on these types of courses. The rock bouncers would definitely have the edge on the set up for something like Bounty Hill... Appreciate the videos you post! @@BustedKnuckleVideo
