All female voices in world music nowadays are either one of the many Olivias or Jorjas - great singers but yet, voice timbre, style, songs, they all sound the same. I don’t know if she does it on purpose but I love that her lyrics can relate to the Muslim hijabi experience while also leaving room for interpretation for other women to relate also. For example: women of color, body image, societies standards for women, etc. This song is so deep and raw and I can’t stop listening to it. I can’t wait to see with what you come up with next.

i had a good gaming friend who was so sweet and such a nice person, we played sky children of the light together everyday, we got close and share stuff then i told him I'm a muslim.. he immediately blocked me on every social medias and the game, he said sorry but islam/muslim is evil, didn't gave me a chance to explain the real islam/muslim isn't what he knows through the western medias.. just one experience is enough to make me scared of opening up to my online friends..it must be way worst if you experienced it in real life..
