Also, I read newspaper articles that said that she neither speaks Hindi nor English. But has a knack for singing in any language.
Also, learning Hindi has nothing to do with patriotism. You can decide to never learn Hindi and still be patriotic. Especially in a multi-lingual country like India, in my opinion, hindi imposition is wrong. I had many friends from Northeast in my batch, so I'm well-aware that the ones who choose to, can definitely speak and write hindi. Cheers! :)

We North-east Indians try to fit in to be an Indian. We called ourselves as an Indian we loved our Bharat. We tried so hard to be an Indian but some never sees us an Indian. But when I sing both the national song and anthem, I use to sing with tears, realizing the great hearts and sacrifices of the creators of Mother India. Till now, I don't know the meaning of both the songs. But I really love and respect them. I had a great sense of belonging to this country.
