The Bucks didn't underperform after they won the chip. Middleton got hurt the year after the Bucks won. They took the Celtics to 7 games without their second best player. smh
THANK YOU
Exactly 😂😂😂these ESPN niggas just be saying things without knowing what actually went down😂😂🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Middleton is a role player, it didn’t matter if he was injured or not. That’s like saying thanasis was injured so they couldn’t win the chip
@@jasonapplebaum9871You’re an idiot for saying that
@@jasonapplebaum9871Thank you. Khris Middleton is the Paul George of Michael Porter Jr's.

You know that the raptors only won because the whole warriors team was injured
@@dexter-jy3yk that's sports for ya. that team had another solid two years as constructed
You know the warriors only won in 2015 because Kyrie and k love we’re hurt. I wish these clowns would just do some homework. Middleton was injured and unavailable for the 2nd round. That’s why the Bucks lost in 7 to the Celtics.
Exactly 😂😂😂💯
Excuses
The reason they won in 2021 was because Kyrie was injured as well.
Why so emotional?
They still would’ve lost
For the Bucks, how does RJ miss the fact that Khris Middleton was out that entire 2nd round in 2022? A lot of people felt they would've repeated if Khris wasn't injured. The Bucks without their 2nd best player took the team that did go to the Finals to 7 games, & I believe the Bucks/Warriors would've been a more competitive series than the Celtics/Warriors was.
Why do yall think they take their jobs seriously beyond the requirement to generate views?
Middleton and Giannis have been playing together for 10 years and only won once. What’s your excuses for the other 8x
@@dexter-jy3yk nobody said they were a championship team every year only talkin about after the title year
@@dexter-jy3yk That's a loaded question, but go ahead & read if you're really curious lmao. Youth, coaching, injuries, & Giannis having zero help in some series. So you really expect players to come into the NBA & start winning right away? Lmao. They didn't get a decent coach until 5 years ago, even then that coach sucked in the Playoffs, was on the verge of getting fired until they finally won in 2021. Giannis hurt 4 out of the last 5 Playoffs. They probably would've won in 2019, but in the ECF, coaching sucked & their 2nd & 3rd best players didn't show up, Middleton averaged 13ppg that series while Bledsoe put up 10ppg. They were the favorites to win in 2022, but Middleton got hurt.
Also, let's face it, Middleton is not of the caliber of other team's Robins, good player but probably more like a 3rd option if we're being honest. LeBron has had Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love, & AD throughout his career. KD has had Westbrook, Curry, Dray, Klay, Kyrie, Harden, Booker, Beal. Curry's had Klay, Dray, KD. It's hard to win multiple times without a HOF caliber teammate, as you see Giannis & Jokic are having a tough time doing so. Big reason why they needed to trade for Dame, it's hard when Giannis is your only consistent reliable source of offense.
Bucks would have found a way to choke to gsw like every other season. 2021 was an injury plagued playoff year
The Raptors team in 2020 without Kawhi was still strong, they had a 15 game win streak and were 2nd in the East when the pandemic shut everything down. That killed Siakams rhythm and he wasn't the same when the bubble kicked in. If that was a normal season we could have easily gone to the east finals and potentially the nba finals.
This brings into light how dominant Michael Jordan and the bulls were mentally and physically.
If MJ didn’t take two years off it’s very possible they would’ve won 8 championships in a row which is crazy.
we done with the 90s and their "illegal defense" rules
@@stevenscummy1458cringe
More like how weak the league was,I actually grew up in a bulls household from 90 on. The league NEVER had a complete team as the good as the 90s bulls. They had the best defensive backcourt, best player & best coach in all 6 finals, they should've went 6-0. That same team(either 3 peat squad) would only win 2-3 rings in this era & thats a huge MAYBE,they don't have enough offense to win consistently!
@@Darealkingrichard idk about that... just think the miami heat made it to the finals like 3x with there leading guy being jimmy butler... imagine keeping that same team and adding micheal jordan to it... probably would of won like 3chips and that's hardly a super team... i see micheal jordan having many opportunities to win adding him to most play off contenders
The last two teams to win back to back championship is a super team.

Kobe had universally recognized as the best front court in Gasol-Bynum-Odom. It was a monster team. #1 sg, top 3 center and top 3 PF on the same starting lineup.
Bucks wasn’t healthy, Middy didn’t play against Boston
Guys the second apron limitations make it almost impossibile to keep a good starting 5 + deep bench for two straight season. Denver had the luck to retain his starting 5, but they inevitably lost Bruce Brown since they didn't have the space to match the other offers, as well as Jeff Green
After hearing this repeating narrative, I just value LeBron James' 8 straight trips to the finals so much. I know he was 3/8 or whatever, but that's an incredible feat. Gotta appreciate the greatness
If there's no repeat champion for the next 10-15 years, that'll be 16-21 years of no repeat champion. That has literally never happened in the nba and I don't see that happening
Yeah no doubt there will be a repeat along the line, you need a bench but having a strong starting squad is still worth a lot
Wrong. There was no repeats from 1970-1987. Meaning in Kareem’s 20 season career (1969-1989), the Showtime Lakers were the only ones to repeat
@manamongstboyz8956 my apologies, I meant modern nba, post nba/aba merger so from. 76 to 87 there were no repeats, which would be 11 years. My bad

Denver is still going to be title contenders for the next 5 years with the roster they currently have. CB, Holliday, & Watson are home grown studs who will easily replace Brown & Green. They need another good backup PF/C. Jokic’s game plays for more than 5 years. Who knows what happens w/ Murray’s health. AG got 3 years at least. MPJ knows he needs to develop into a mini KD.
They also need a backup PG cause Reggie ain't it and they might also need a KCP replacement if he leaves in FA
They are well above the second apron. They can't manage to pay everyone unless they're willing to pay hefty luxury tax. I'm not sure Denver has rich owners like golden state or clippers.
Holiday is old asf bruh, and not homegrown he a journeyman

Beautifully done Richard Jefferson
The real question should be "How do we make the regular season even as half as interesting as the POS ?" because the NBA can't go on like that for much longer ...
This just shows how unpredictable and how various circumstances affect teams. It’s more likely that this continues because it’s never predictable. Unless we get another super team
The league needs to expand.
The new CBA is making it difficult for these teams to go on a Dynasty run of sorts! Adam Silver is running the NBA like the Premier League ( soccer ) over in Europe. That's where he got that In-Season Tournament Cup concept from. Silver is making it cost-prohibitive for Teams to have a sustained level of championship runs.
The NBA forced parity with the luxury tax 2nd bracket. So now even more stars can''t team up so you are stuck with either just one or 2 if that with a bunch of role players. It makes the NBA random every year
Fact that Perk said this makes me think theres hidden dynasty starting
There won't be a repeat champion for awhile as these players do not have the mental fortitude to handle the grind of the seasons.
Or maybe the league is back being competitive again and not everyone joining forces like it's the avengers
The way the cap is structured l, it's not about being a dominant team for years. I's about keeping your stars. The owners don't care about that.
2015 Warriors added Durant as the 4th star ... the entire NBA woke up
What??? Kd joined gsw in 2017🤣
It’s up to the front office.
Nuggets could have repeated this season but they let two key pieces walk and they didn’t fill the void.
Could argue the same for the 2020 Lakers.
Some bad luck but I think we will clearly see a repeat champion in the next 5-7 years. The past six years just have had some weird circumstances.
Two champions (Lakers and Warriors) were older teams. Raptors were a team whose best player left another odd circumstance.
The Bucks were deceptively old as going into 2021/22 they had 3 starters age 30 or older with Lopez at 33, Holiday at 31 and Middleton age 30 that along with some bad injury luck just led to a lack of repeating as champions.
The only true shock were most of the team was younger was Denver whose starters were all 29 and under with the exception of KCP who is 31.
With the rise of a significant amount of younger teams along with Denver still having a window I think a repeat champion will happen.
Or NBA players are not just cut from the same clothes anymore. They don't stay hungry long enough or they don't have greatness aspirations. Injuries were always in the picture. But they use to find a way to pull the championship.
OG did not play in the Raptors championship run, cmon RJ
He saying the raptors had OG to repeat not saying they had him in the first run
Winning a championship is hard. Repeating is even harder. Mentally, a team may not be as hungry after winning and they lose their edge. Additionally, they may lose players to trade or retirement and other teams will look to reload and fortify.
If the over/under was 10 years, I'd definitely take the under. Repeats happen often enough. A new dynasty will likely be assembled at some point. Perhaps one day Wemby will get paired up with SGA, Luka, Trae Young, Ant, Brunson, or someone like that.
That 2020 Lakers could've repeated, they blew up their whole team tho
‘Bucks lost cuz they didn’t have Middleton’ is Tier A Coping for those saying it in the comments
Here goes Kendrick Perkins wild take again. Cant wait to see someone prove him wrong just like the Warriors
if there is one person that can repeat it is curry
I still can’t believe that Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole after a championship during a preseason practice. It literally doesn’t make any sense…
It’s the officiating that makes the champions. This year is absolutely craziness. It’s street rules RN
Yup And it hasn't been a 3 peat since Kobe and shaq
The answer is injuries
RJ makes a great point. Why does everyone have Ant compared to MJ but can’t go back to back if they win this year?
I think there can be a repeat champion you just have to be A1 as a GM of a franchise making moves to keep a championship team on top that following season
Man RJ what are you saying, OG was injured during the raptors run, and the bucks were not healthy that following year, they had no middleton all playoffs. half of those takes had no validity behind them
Nuggets just need a back up Center that can dominate like Jokic can. The young players they replaced bruce brown and green with, just need more experience and need to learn more.
So we’re gonna let the Lakers off the hook for letting go of their bench?? Howard, KCP, Rondo, Carusso?? Mcgee? I mean comon. Biggest takeaway for most of these teams not repeating is not running it back, Lakers, Toronto, and Nuggets. Yes, veteran pieces left their bench
That was the following season
no one knows what the spurs and wemby are doing in the next 5 five years, no one knows how the dynamics change once Lebron Steph KD are done, and last but not least Perk doenst know what hes talking about. i guess he guessed that he didnt keep the job at espn for his expertise and he fully embraces that every single day.

There probably won't be any more repeats because there are so many I juries happening each year to critical player which changing the course of a season or playoffs for that particular team!

Even Perk wouldn't go that far.
@@matiasavellanal5244 The Lakers will when they have Dr. Buss 2.0
bro had no reason to make such a take lmao.
You're missing the key element. There will be a coach come along that will teach young players how to fit into a winning scheme. There is your back to back. I'll go so far as to say it will be the first coach that figures out how to defend the 3 and the lob at the same time. Switching on screens and never ending double teams is not the answer.
PERK HAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST TAKES
Funny because hes been mostly right this entire playoffs.
Middleton got hurt
This 3pt shooting era has done more to neutralize star/superstar gravitas than any rule change or style of play.
Think about how back in the 90's and 00's all of the superstars would impose their will down the stretch and power teams to wins, usually inside the arc.
Nowadays players trying to do that are still successful, but get their backs broken via death from 1000 cuts: role playing guys that can contribute 10-15pts by killing you from outside the arc. 36% 3 pt shooting and 54% 2pt shooting generate the same amount of points per shot.
That, on top of the usual luck/role of the dice in regard to injuries, or firing on all cylinders or going into slumps at the right/wrong time, why this big 3 era is dead, and why league parity is at an all time high in relation to no repeaters or 3 peaters.
Honestly that why I also laugh when people say guys like MJ would still win 6 in this era. No the hell he wouldnt lol
I love the current NBA a new team wins every year now we just have to fix sports shows who only talk about the lakers and cowboys

Pascal especially was the most impacted & this is why he was mentally & physically out of shape in the Bubble & yet still took Celtics to gm 7 with terrible officiating & was 2 fgm from getting back to the ECF w/o Kawhi.
