This is really useful. I'm wondering if the same could be done with video cameras to remotely start and end recording at once without the need for multiple operators

I was just going to mention about missing leaps due to pressing the shutter and having to wait for it to wake up. Getting the timing right is tricky, especially if you haven't see the band before. Speaking of which, what ear plugs do you use? I'm getting to the age where I know I need them, but when I do I feel very isolated from what's going on around me.

I have custom molder in-ear monitors I use with a wireless pack just like the band members. But before I had that, I liked to use the etymotic ety-plugs. The cheap foam ones will even help in a pinch.

another great tutorial. I just got a thought. I use a Nikon D500 for remote in baseball, triggered with a pocket wizard II plus and I prefocus. Do you set your R5 in AF and forget about it? My Z6 will AF eye and face really good since upgrade firmware but I don't always get eyes or full face of player. Next season I might get the proper cable and try it. thanks again, Ted

Yes - watch my video about gear - th-cam.com/video/BVxpTzwdoTE/w-d-xo.html - and you'll see that's exactly what I do, EyeAF on a remote is a game changer!

Bullet Time effect from Matrix is what comes to mind when talking about remote cameras firing at sametime.

That's what I'm aiming for! :-) I do find the trigger handheld can help with autofocus, but when placed on the master camera's hotshoe the autofocus doesn't transmit through to the remote camera :-(

Hmm not sure why because it certainly should. Do you have the remote camera set to AF on the shutter button? If so, it's not possible for the camera to fire without the AF activating.

I know the vello freewave fusion pro can do the same thing. Is there any other trigger that can do the same thing ????
I checked on adaroma - they didn't have any used vello freeware fusion pro. I don't have the budget to go for a new one. U should should do some give away or something.

I have a question! not sure if you'll have the answer but wanted to try :). I plan to shoot the finish line of marathons with a long lens and second camera with a wide lens to more reliably capture the runners bib number. I am working to rig a monopod with a cage and have these two cameras mounted together and fire simultaneously. Currently I have a 5d IV and 6D II. I would like to trigger them simultaneously by using the 5D IV normally. I know there are wireless systems that allow for this, including pocket wizard remotes and canon-made wireless systems. But what I am trying to figure out is if there is a wired system I could use, which would be far more reliable. Less batteries to fail, less wireless systems to figure out. I call CPS and they said something *probably* exists but he didn't know what it was and suggested it would probably be a 3rd party product. I don't need autofocus on the secondary camera, I just need it to trigger at the same time my main camera. Both cameras have front facing remote control terminals, I feel like there has to be something? I would be so grateful if you had any advice on this front. thank you so much for your videos and content. all the best, Ben

Hey, I'm shooting for Marathons as well where we are capturing photos of all runners, which will then get bib tagged. Wanted to check if you were able to find a trigger system that can trigger a second camera, while you are operating the first camera manually with the shutter button.

@@DavidBergmanPhoto so one remote controls as many pocket units as one can setup and guessing that they can grouped in sets as well.

Is there a cheaper alternative to the pocket wizards that wild work for Sony alpha cameras? We can’t get those in Brazil

Doesn't work with strobes. Not sure if the multiple triggers confuse it but it doesn't fire 2nd camera and if it does, no light from flash in the image.

is there any way this can be done with Flashpoint remote triggers ?

If I want the remote camera to trigger at the same time I trigger my handheld camera. How do you set that up?

It's a receiver on your camera, not a transmitter.
