Although this isn't relevant to this review, I was wondering what the best telescope is for deep sky objects. The prices im aiming at are about 500-700, if you could give any advice that would be great 🙏
I went on ahead and bought the S50 I was contemplating the S30 but when I saw that it wouldn’t come until late May I simply couldn’t wait that long Mind you the S50 is back order it won’t get here until February but that’s way more doable than May Maybe down the road I’ll get the S30 as a backup to the S50
Thanks for the video. Is it fair to say this is a functionally equivalent but smaller version of the S50? BTW, the audio volume went way down in the last 1-2 minutes.
Having used the S50 for quite a while now, the S30 has the same focal ratio as the S50 which results in a wider field of view with the S30 with the same quality aperture to focal length wise. I really didn't expect the results of the S50 to be so good, but after a few months i really fell in love with it. If one takes the time to learn everything about the equipment, the results are stunning. I've seen photos that noone would have ever guessed would be from the S50. Especially when doing custom mosaics with a very long integration time. I also have a 650mm with 130mm aperture, but since i have the S50 i pretty much only use it for visual astronomy while the seestar does photos in the background. It inspired many people to start with the hobby, mod it and show whats possible with such 'cheap' equipment! And as the first really good photos from the S30 came in, I'm genuinely impressed by what it is capable of.

Thanks for the good comprehensive review 🙏
OK. High point got their S30. When do deliveries start for the rest of us. Purchased 1 Nov.

Thanks! When do we get it?

Yes it pretty much is. It is way smaller and has a larger field of view and has a few minor upgrades as well.
It would have been nice to plan to have these ship by Christmas or by the end of December! They lost a sell.
I’m hoping this review is at least 80% honest, mines on order
TRES TRES intéressent donne envie d'achat.
Can you track a plane? I am watching videos while I wait on my back order.
Thats a good idea to try actually. If i would get a clear sky soon, I'm gonna test it for you with the S50.
A 30mm telescope? My guide camera is 50mm. To me it's just too small. The S50 is marginally acceptable.
