- There is outrage surrounding Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker's commencement speech at Benedictine College. His cringe-worthy message to female college graduates, encouraging them to be homemakers, has everyone talking. There is also backlash over Butker referring to being gay as a deadly sin while speaking of pride felt among students at the school. Inside Edition’s Jim Moret has more.

I don’t really care what this guy believes- bottom line it was so strange and kind of narcissistic to disregard the effort these scholars put into their degrees on their day, so that he could go on a soapbox about gender roles. There’s a time and place for everything. And not all Catholics agree with him.
Your anger blinds you, he never disregarded their efforts and if you listened to the entire speech he congratulated them for their work and offered best wishes to all their endeavors. I am sure the Catholics who believe it is ok to kill a baby in the womb did not agree with all he said.

What people don’t understand is that he said this at a CATHOLIC college where most people there have the same beliefs he has and what he’s saying is apart of their religion
These Religions can remain traditional but even the pope knows you have use inclusive language to keep recruiting numbers up.
So what if it is a CATHOLIC college? They made the video public. We don't have to agree on beliefs but we all can have opinions.

Regardless of whether it is a Catholic college or not, a commencement speech, especially from a guest speaker, is neither the time nor place to dish out grievances, state political opinions, or make assumptions about people in the audience.

I'm sorry, but who says Catholicism is about keeping women in the house? He is one of those men who just believe that a woman is only useful to be a maid and/ or someone to give children. It's absolutely insulting what he said. But to me, the fact that he claims his wife's life started once she became a wife and mother is insulting as well. Women's lives don't start once they become. a wife or a mother . It doesn't make sense that if this is what he believes in. If this guy were just an ordinary person off the street, he definitely wouldn't have been invited to speak at this event. He literally said women were "diabolically lied to" for thinking anything other than a homemaker was the best choice for them. Even the nuns took issue with it. I graduated from a Christian school myself (BYU), I just don't think Butker or any man can just decide what is best for all women.
