@@ChknKng it's a soft reboot. 2 flopped but it was very loosely related to the first game. If there was ever an actual sequel to the first game i'd be hyped.
@@ChknKng That's not actually Outlast 3, it's a spin-off that's multiplayer apparently called The Outlast Trials. There is however an actual Outlast 3 planned by Red Barrels, but they said they want to make The Outlast Trials first.

I'm always impressed by people who can actually play games like this. Not even necessarily because they're scary, but because I have such a crappy sense of direction in video games, especially when they're dark. I kept getting lost in the part with the generator and the four hallways stemming from the main room. That part is only like ten minutes into the game, and it's not even complicated.
It's fucking killing me that he couldn't even get a sip of his drink at 22:29

for some reason i love rewatching this series. any time, any hour, any season. maybe because gavin and michael's antics balance out the sheer fucked up horror of the games. thank you for another excuse to rewatch them shitting their pants :D

Good thing this was recommended while watching the latest AHWU. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for Outlast Trials Play Pals.
I still feel Outlast 2 tried too hard, that for me killed the horror aspect of it. As in outlast you see this half naked fat guy appear and you crap your pants while in the sequel you got this goth lady with an axe and a this dwarf riding dude. They went too far into trying to make it scary. Is like if after alien 1 in alien 2 they went "ok now the alien has a gun". That and the over complicated story with the flashbacks and else took me away from where I was. It was so weird, heck even outlast 1 went a bit weird at the end but you sort of got what was going on very easily. I really hope that we get a third game and that is simpler as the first one.

Agreed. Wrote a whole article about that. I mean, it kept going and going and then we randomly got blood rain and I just remember thinking, "........Ok. You need to stop."

Outlast is probably my favorite series they've ever done. Mostly thanks to how invested Michael and Gavin got in the story.

Light is really just energized particles travelling in a wave. This wave is measurable and it dictates colour. Red light is at the opposite end of the spectrum from blue, and depending on how the waves “shift” we can figure out what objects the come from to create a picture.
(I’m not a scientist I googled all of this in 30min, some of it might be wrong but it sounds kinda interesting so I encourage a google)

Because creators thought: over the top violence and gore = horror. However the game wasn’t nearly as scary or fun
