    I used to shoot the real version of this back in the late eighties here in the UK, my colleague brought it in to work and popped this hessian bag on my desk, I was a big Dirty Harry fan, I slid it out of the bag and could hardly believe it, amazing fun to shoot, my mate used to make his own bullets and his trick was to Stoke at least one bullet so it was much hotter, I had a trigger mark in my forehead for weeks 😂 this looks very close to the real thing.

    I really like the black chrome finish. its really well done. I bought the M29 with the 8 3/8s barrel and the finish was so nice I could not let myself shoot it. So I had to buy one more that I would shoot, I am how looking for a wall mountable display case. Any one know where I could get one

    I have the same 6.5", ( Solware too ) or should I say 2.75" rifled barrel version??
    To say I was dissapointed when I took it apart and realised how short the barrel was is an understatement, I'd have bought the shorter version if I'd known.
    Finally got around to modifing the barrel . Lucky to own a lathe, turned down a 6" barrel in .22 , drilled and reamed out the cartridges with a 7/32" reamer and made ptfe rear seals
    Now around 340fps or 3.4 ft/lbs
    I'm working on a final version for it in 177 but with the claimed 6.5 " barrel as a flat trajectory is more important to me at low power levels, just need to source 177 barrels I can work with

    The cartridges are the same as used by Umarex's Colt SAA.

      @@PeterAgostiniJdcap26 I’m pretty much good with my purchase of this gun. Pretty well made, and perfect companion to my 8 3/8” version. They mostly stay on display next to one another, but fairly accurate the handful of times I shot it. Wish I could have found one in 4.5 bb version however…..

      How goes it Pete. Of course, there's nothing like the real deal, but this gun is just plain fun to shoot/own ! I don't care that the triggers a bit clunky, or accuracy isn't spot on. I don't care it has an unrealistic safety, or even cheap plastic grips. Overall, this replica is well built and finished, and is a blast to plink with. I have the 8" version, and the 3" variant. Can't find the 6" anywhere, but it's definitely on my bucket list ! I know where you're coming from, a bit of Ren Wax, and you don't want to touch it anymore... lol ! I consider this gun right up there with the 715 / Webley / Colt SAA / Nagant / even the magnificent Schofield. Bravo Umarex !!

    Great looking gun and a very nice present. Nice to see how it compares to the Dan Wesson 715?

    • @vahanyazarian5582
      @vahanyazarian5582 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fyi. The Dan Wesson's barrel s are only 2 inches long but they never tell you that!

    I’m real upset that as an American, I cannot purchase the 6.5 inch model! If anyone has an international source who can ship to america for these, I’d love to know!

    Why wouldn’t the barrel on the pellet version be 4.5mm all the way through?

    • @reevessairgunningreviews5572
      @reevessairgunningreviews5572  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because companies recently have been fitting shorter rifled barrels inside the revolver barrel, a barrel within a barrel. This must be a cost cutting exercise as it is certainly not for performance. I check the barrel now on purchasing now.

      @reevessairgunningreviews5572  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HarveyJohnWillmott personally yes. Unless it is fully rifled then a Rear loading shell will shoot a pellet better though a full length BB barrel in my opinion.

      I agree, though you would lose quite a few shots from a full Co2. I would have preferred for Umarex to make it in .22 Cal, like the new Webley revolvers.

    @britishinvader 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you use pellets in this gun ?...I was told it was a bb gun only......

    • @reevessairgunningreviews5572
      @reevessairgunningreviews5572  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It shoots pellets very well. I use domed pellets, RWS Superfield 8.4 grain, with the 4.52mm head. The “BB” shells seem to have a slightly softer rubber where you insert the BB/Pellet, but apart from that the only difference between the BB/Pellet shells is the colour, Brass colour for BB and Silver for the pellet shell. Check out the shooting review of my S&W M29 with the Superfield pellet.

      Will the Umarex Colt Peacemaker saa45 pellet shells work in the Umarex m-29?

      @reevessairgunningreviews5572  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@britishinvader Yes they do. I bought a 10 pack of Winchester shells which are the same as the Umarex SAA and they work perfectly.

      Yes. If your BB Revolver loads it's ammunition into the rear of the shell, it will fire pellets too. I find them much more accurate that BB balls.
