Japanese education system builds their character, culture, and economy. 1. Character before academic knowledge. Till 10 years old no exam manners, discipline, character. Respect, generosity, consideration,self-control, and how to take care of themselves, other people, and nature, animals. 2. Character is the foundation of learning. 3. Japanese school day is long and given homework. 4. The teacher is given the highest respect. 5. Teach not entertain. 6. No prom in japan, arts and sports culture. 7. No school buses in japan. Kindergarten mothers take children to school and in higher classes kids travel by themselves to school. 8. No janitors. 9. The summer break is 5 weeks long, must do a lot of homework and more extra circular activity.
Regarding the teaching workload, is it very exhausting? And what is the relationship between students' mental health and these long hours? I ask because, while studying more about Chinese culture, I also saw that some students exceed 17 hours of study per day! I loved your content. Hugs from Brazil!
I think the United States should take the best part of foreign education systems and adapt it to theirs. There are some really good points about a teacher's real job.
Interesting to also note that there are are lot of absenteeism going on in Japan. I think if you have long vacations, that should be for rest and recreation and not for doing homework. There is also a high rate of suicide in Japanese students due to perfectionism and an uptight culture. I think there should be a balance of academics, play and focus on emotional well being of the students
I went to school in the Philippines from Kinder to 2nd grade. And though it is considered a third world country I was more advanced than the kids in the US when I came here. By the time I was in 2nd grade I was already bilingual and was able to do multiplication Fast forward to now. I have 2 kids 12 &10 and I’ve never put them in the public school system. Everyone says they’re good kids and super smart. They can hold conversations with adults and have social intelligence and already have an idea what they are talented in and what they want to pursue as adults. The US educational system is very broken. Unless we have a system like Japans it is better for you as a parent, if you’re able, to teach your kids yourself.

Number 3 is interesting because I'm Russian and in my country average middle-class students are at school from 8:30am to +- 4:00pm
Very nice. You nailed it.
Thank you so much for this video. I really needed more information to use in my presentation about japan! This really helped :D! Super well explained!

Interesting.
I honestly think every country should consider this, study it and see how they can translate it according to their own culture, goals, and history
Absolutely agree. Thank you for This video. I will consider implementing this to my kids homeschool life.
Base of a good life is good education.
Love, peace.

Stand with Bangladeshi students🇧🇩
Also not teaching their kids about their history and what they did to other parts of Asia. At least they're getting taught manners and good knowledge.
You can focus on the past or focus on being a better version of yourself for a better today and future. Not just for you but for society as a whole
