Yess!
Gap a Shelby? What Shelby you talking about?
Clearly you don't understand light weight and what Lotus was about.
@jeffreymank3557 Clearly, you make assumptions based on thin air. I've been a fan of Lotus and Colin Chapman's ideals for decades.
In fact, even though you can't see it clearly, the bike I'm riding in my profile pic is a Ducati 748. During its heyday, it dominated the track and won championships despite its competitors having greater horsepower. All due to light weight and a superior chassis.
Given the numerous cars holding the "Shelby" name, I was merely asking what car he was referencing. How you pulled from that the assumption I don't know anything about lightweight cars is a complete head scratcher. 🤔
Head to head though, if he meant the Shelby Cobra, this car and the original Cobra share near identical pounds/horsepower figures. (However the original Lotus Super 7 only had 70hp, so no comparison). I think if you had equal drivers, it would be a near thing on the track. The Lotus would obviously dominate the twisties, but the Cobra would "gap" the Lotus in the straights but hold its own enough in the corners to make it interesting.
Thing is, if this guy in the video got a ride in the Cobra, just from the sheer visceral experience of it, he would assume it was a superior car. But I really don't think he has the experience and knowledge to make a silly claim such as he made.
I meant a Shelby cobra this birkin 7 has a busa engine swap so no not 70hp about 173-188 depending on what year busa car weighs 1200lbs first gen cobras have 260hp at about 2100 lbs so yea my bad maybe not gap but neck and neck I still got to ride in it power to weight ratios are close but the birkin has the higher power to weight then the cobra
@joeydangdang730 Ah, but at this point you're not comparing apples to apples. If you're going to use the stats from the first Gen Cobra, then you have to do likewise for the 7.
However, if you're going to compare later versions or modded ones, such as this Birkin, then just about every other version of the Cobra has 400+hp.
Dude ur taking it too seriously I’m not gonna trip over myself in the interview with 1st gen 2nd gen blah blah bs my point still stands will gap a og Shelby cobra it’s just a kit car with a stock busa swap with ignition and needed accessories for the swap the video is not about a cobra or what the birkin can beat it’s about the car maybe if you picked up on the satire of the video we wouldn’t be talking about it shit will gap a hellcat busa power babyyyyyy
Learn to just enjoy and respect the car and the build because this car deserves it i understand you some sort of nark Shelby fanboy but get the stick from up outta your ass
